This is Jazz a Marciac. You have to go at least once every year, it's good for morale.

A place of pilgrimage! Since its beginning a little more than 40 years ago, the annual festival of jazz in Marciac opens its doors at the end of July-beginning of August for 3 weeks of Jazz music of all origins. Conviviality, sharing and relaxation in the heart of a charming little village in Gers. Mecca of jazz culture combining gastronomy and crafts.

Great show. But the placement of the chairs is not concave, which would have been much more suitable for such a large number of people. We had good seats, and for all that it was difficult to see, I dare not ask what people saw behind the room. Fortunately there were the screens.
The young teens who SCREAMED non stop to sell ice cream, we could have done without.

Very good festival for all audiences. The music is varied. Great atmosphere. It's the music festival in all the streets for three weeks. Very friendly welcome from the hundreds of volunteers. Large free parking spaces for all types of vehicles. The region is very beautiful. We come there and we come back.

Super jazz festival I recommend more you can do volunteer. The Gazette publish and produced by passionate volunteers like the Duke of Toulouse. You can also listen to the megalo pianist on the church square a music and 30min of speeches on ARE YES ARE piano. At the end of the day do not miss the Wild Jam apartir of 3h

The mecca of jazz to put it mildly!

You have to imagine the titanic work that it took to impose this beautiful but so small Gers bastide as one of the essential stages of the greatest names in jazz.
Say the name of an artist and for sure it has passed through the marquee, the list is dizzying.

Nestled in the hollow of the Gascon hills in the land of Cocagne Marciac in addition to the sounds offers good drinking and good eating. Duck, pork, poultry in confit, cured in fresh. Grilled meats of Gascon beef or local breed, around the hills hide many treasures of taste.

I'll share some addresses for the good stuff. Under the arcades to the left of the stage there is a group of duck, Bigorre black pork and gingerbread producers. For wine, push to Madiran at the priory you will find a complete sampling of the wines of the appellation or the small shop on the road "les 20 de Madiran" rather in the organic.


Gascony is a land of good things that need to be revealed to all who seek them.

40 year anniversary!!! As a New Orleanian who married a Frenchman whose parents live 15 minutes from Marciac, this festival has been something we have returned to the Southwest of France for as often as possible... going on 5 times in 11 years of marriage. It's NOTHING like the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, but it is special nonetheless. Thank you, Marsalis Family!
