I really love this place because there is a little place for kids, trails to walk, it's beautiful, it's not that hot, and the Nature Center provides everything you will need. I really recommend people to come to this place and do exercise so they won't have to sit down at home all bored and lazy.

The arboretum is special because it embraces the natural state of nature vs keeping it highly manicured...though it still has the best of both.
Take in the tall beauty of the pine trees, the blooming flowers, and the prairie grass along miles of well kept trails. It will make you think you weren t in the city...If you didn t hear the traffic that is (;

Went here for a Tyke Hike with a couple of other moms. The kids loved it. They startedted by reading a book and learning about mosquitos, then went out for a hike and had the kiddos pick "mosquitos" through the hike. My daughter loved it and was excited to report the entire outing to my husband and anyone who would listen. We will definitely go back again.

I m very sad, the African-American lady in the store went right up and ask me: CAN I HELP YOU WITH SOMETHING? with a very rude voice, and after that it make myself comfortable and I didn t want it to see anything else cause she kept staring at me like if I m going to do something wrong. She disturbed my experience at the park.

Relaxing trails that help you escape the hustle of the city. A great place to get lost and find new adventures. Lush greenery around ponds and trees and overlooking the bayou and hillsides...

Near the Bermuda Triangle.

The only trail in Houston that top this may be the Ho Chi Minh Trail, which is one of the Top 10 Trails in the world.

This is a cozy place. There are a lot of trees, so there are always shady trails. This is a non profit organisation and they get money for parking, it costs 5$. By the way, when we was here last time at February 2019 there was a great swamp! But now it mostly dryed :( and overgrown with bushes and tall grass, I can t even believe that from the observation deck there was a great view of the water and water inhabitants

We love this place, has a lot walking trails, bike and runners routs. Very well maintained, a lot of restrooms, water fountains and benches. On Thursdays it s free. We ve seen several armadillos and beautiful colorful birds. It gets really busy on weekends so might be difficult to find a parking place. The staff is very professional and always willing to help. Highly recommend, especially if you have kids or dogs. And don t forget the repellent, cause you ll be eaten alive!

Born and raised in Houston and this is the first time I've ever visited this spot. It's a really nice area, especially considering it's in the middle of huge city like Houston. I love that even though you're surrounded by major freeways, it feels like your out far away (when you don't hear the traffic noise). It's amazing how many different species of plants, insects and reptiles you spot by just taking your time and observing. I really liked it here and I plan on coming back during the fall when it cools off to see if any animals might stir around when it's not so warm.

We took our homeschool group out on the trails. The grounds are well maintained, and at the time of writing getting some upgrades and removal of non native species of trees. Register ahead if you'd like a guided tour.

This place is wonderful, relaxing and peaceful! Bikers and runners are not allowed cause the trails are for pedestrian only, so it is perfectly safe for little ones. I enjoyed the trees, bushes, flowers, ponds, butterflies, turtles, fishes and many more. Parking here is no longer free and we were charged $1 per hour. Overall, the place is lovely and will definitely be back!

They definately thinned out the underbrush making the park more meadow than forest. Also they now have paid parking that they claim supports the park. Many areas of the park seem to be under construction..
