Beautiful native plants, really well maintained trails and not to crowded. Make sure you put on your sunscreen though!
I really love this place because there is a little place for kids, trails to walk, it's beautiful, it's not that hot, and the Nature Center provides everything you will need. I really recommend people to come to this place and do exercise so they won't have to sit down at home all bored and lazy.
Lovely area with a number of trails and open year round. It's a really neat place to see the seasonal changes here!
The arboretum is special because it embraces the natural state of nature vs keeping it highly manicured...though it still has the best of both.
Take in the tall beauty of the pine trees, the blooming flowers, and the prairie grass along miles of well kept trails. It will make you think you weren t in the city...If you didn t hear the traffic that is (;
Went here for a Tyke Hike with a couple of other moms. The kids loved it. They startedted by reading a book and learning about mosquitos, then went out for a hike and had the kiddos pick "mosquitos" through the hike. My daughter loved it and was excited to report the entire outing to my husband and anyone who would listen. We will definitely go back again.
Such a beautiful gem in the middle of the city. Enjoyed it thoroughly.
One of the best places to see some nature in Houston.
I m very sad, the African-American lady in the store went right up and ask me: CAN I HELP YOU WITH SOMETHING? with a very rude voice, and after that it make myself comfortable and I didn t want it to see anything else cause she kept staring at me like if I m going to do something wrong. She disturbed my experience at the park.
They're under construction right now but it will be five stars when they finish I'm sure. This is a good place for a nice walk even with the construction.
The Arboretum is an amazing gem in the center of Houston. You feel like you are far away from the city when you're there.
Beautiful place for a walk or pokewalk to hatch those eggs or to simply take in the scenery. Lickitungs are plenty at the entrance.
great place to get away from home. Many nice trails with the new construction.
Relaxing trails that help you escape the hustle of the city. A great place to get lost and find new adventures. Lush greenery around ponds and trees and overlooking the bayou and hillsides...
Near the Bermuda Triangle.
The only trail in Houston that top this may be the Ho Chi Minh Trail, which is one of the Top 10 Trails in the world.
This is a cozy place. There are a lot of trees, so there are always shady trails. This is a non profit organisation and they get money for parking, it costs 5$. By the way, when we was here last time at February 2019 there was a great swamp! But now it mostly dryed :( and overgrown with bushes and tall grass, I can t even believe that from the observation deck there was a great view of the water and water inhabitants
Very pretty place to take a walk or hike. Great place to take your dog too. We saw a lot of wildlife and butterflies.
It's a nice respite from the city. Easy hiking trails some of which covered by trees so it's not too hot. Very nice wildflower collection (with names/labels) in the shop!
Construction going on - but did not detract from the experience. Good visitor center experience
Best place to stroll! well kept and close to Galleria / Heights area
Beautiful place took kids here, they enjoyed it :)))
Currently doing construction so it is confusing to get into. However, once your in great place to walk or bike. Even play Pokemon Go.
Running trails are nice, wish there were more maps in certain areas.
We love this place, has a lot walking trails, bike and runners routs. Very well maintained, a lot of restrooms, water fountains and benches. On Thursdays it s free. We ve seen several armadillos and beautiful colorful birds. It gets really busy on weekends so might be difficult to find a parking place. The staff is very professional and always willing to help. Highly recommend, especially if you have kids or dogs. And don t forget the repellent, cause you ll be eaten alive!
This peaceful place let's me escape the busy city life and be surrounded by nature. I love seeing all of the native trees, plants, and flowers. And I always enjoy spotting wildlife!
A real treasure in a busy city. Nature set aside in which to enjoy the many paths. Ponds, bogs, meadows, some enormous pine trees. A moment to breathe.
Free and peacefull place - Really like to take my dog out - He loves it! they also got activities on weekend and again - It's free and really close to the center
Born and raised in Houston and this is the first time I've ever visited this spot. It's a really nice area, especially considering it's in the middle of huge city like Houston. I love that even though you're surrounded by major freeways, it feels like your out far away (when you don't hear the traffic noise). It's amazing how many different species of plants, insects and reptiles you spot by just taking your time and observing. I really liked it here and I plan on coming back during the fall when it cools off to see if any animals might stir around when it's not so warm.
Fantastic place to go for walks or to host an event. Very friendly staff!
My favorite place to enjoy some fresh air and wildlife!
Even while they are remodeling the whole place is a calm inside the busy city, great place to go to get grounded
From parking to the diverse trails over lapping to another was a maze that was fun. Downside was that there was a lot of construction that limited trails to making us turn and go around
Nice place to take nature walks without leaving the city! Nice and quiet, doesn't feel like you're 5 minutes from the Galleria. Pet friendly even in the lobby of the center. Clean and well kept.
Its under serious construction right now,but still good for a walk with the pups
We took our homeschool group out on the trails. The grounds are well maintained, and at the time of writing getting some upgrades and removal of non native species of trees. Register ahead if you'd like a guided tour.
Great trails and an all around lovely family experience.
Beautiful place. I went with my mom and nephew. Enough people, kids, things to do, and people with dogs to keep him entertained.
This is a must for me to go back and post on @millermorningadventures & @millermornina1
This place was pretty awesome for being free. Had some classic and fun cars and art on the walls.
Great place to be in touch with the nature I invited a friend and our kids had such fun !
My wife and I had put wedding here in November and couldn't of been happier with the way that it happened. The staff was so great. They helped us with everything and accommodated all our needs.
This place is amazing. Beautiful well kept areas to walk and take pictures. Several trails with different flora and fauna throughout. Perfect place to take headshots or graduation photos or any type of professional photos. Easy walk for all age types and even places to sit throughout.
incredible place. we go there all the time. so much to see & do and lots of wildlife. you gotta go.
This place is wonderful, relaxing and peaceful! Bikers and runners are not allowed cause the trails are for pedestrian only, so it is perfectly safe for little ones. I enjoyed the trees, bushes, flowers, ponds, butterflies, turtles, fishes and many more. Parking here is no longer free and we were charged $1 per hour. Overall, the place is lovely and will definitely be back!
They definately thinned out the underbrush making the park more meadow than forest. Also they now have paid parking that they claim supports the park. Many areas of the park seem to be under construction..
Loved this place. So much secluded and wooded area to walk, you will never know you are just a few yards from the freeway.
Lush green hiking trail in the middle of the city. Love it.
You typical shrub-forest. Its not bad, but it is boring.
Beautiful place. Took a lot of pictures . I will be returning again
