Great trails serviced by many lifts. Tends to be crowded (especially on weekends/holidays) but it never feels that way because everyone is so spread out. The trails are relatively tame compared to say Bristol, but what they lack in vertical they more than make up for in variety and scenery. The lodges are very accommodating and you can eat at their various offerings or bring your own food. The shops are nice and have a wide selection of goods. Certainly worth the drive from anywhere.

My dad and brother had purchased 10pack cards, so had already paid for 10 visits. It was the last week of the 2014 season and I went with my dad, thinking I could use my brothers pass. The ticket lady voided the pass, saying we were trying to scam HV. She did not explain to us that this was not allowed and even though she voided the pass (4 tickets down the drain) we still paid for a ticket so I could ski for the day. HV ended up making money on us, scamming the little guy. What is so upsetting is that the "strict rules" are broken all the time when others do this same thing for their whole family when they are booting up in the lodge. Our family has been skiing in the area for over 25 years and will not be returning to Holiday Valley again. Very disappointed with my last ski day of the year and extremely disappointed in the customer service of HV. All they had to do was explain this rule of voiding the pass, which does not appear on the back of the card and given us the card back because we were willing to pay.

Love Holiday Valley!! Classic old-timey skiing with enough high-speed lifts to keep it movin! They get a lot of snow... like they had 6 inches of fresh snow on March 23! Lots of places to stay like Tamarack and good deals on tickets and exchange rates.

The resort was amazing! I would give it a 5 minus one issue we had.

We travel often and we travel with an open mind and we are usually very accepting of anything unexpected. However we will complain this time.

My wife and 8 month old daughter made a last minute decision to take some time off and spend some time at Holiday Valley.

When we checked in they put us in a room that they knew was covered in vomit. (It was cleaned, however it smelt so bad we asked to move mostly for our daughter s sake) the night staff at the front desk said no problem, switched our room and said we would have to switch our rooms twice. This wasn t a problem.

The next day my wife received a phone call (while she was on the ski hill) from the front desk manager yelling at her. She said if you don t get your stuff out of this room this minute, my staff will be taking your stuff out for you. We got to the desk as fast as we could, the front desk manager said we needed to get out of room because there was a guest that needed to check in right at 2 pm (check in is at 4pm). She then wanted us to move out of our 2nd room bring all of our things to the lobby and wait until 4pm to then move in to our 3rd room.

My wife and I understand that they needed our room, however we did nothing wrong and she treated us so poorly. Would it not have made sense to clean the room we needed to move in to and then clean our room for the next guest? That way all paying guests were satisfied and taken care of? We paid to be there for two nights in the same room and moved to 3 different rooms with an 8 month old.

The fact that we had to move 3 times wasn t the biggest issue, we understand things happen. However when you are representing a company you should treat all of your guests with respect. As a business owner myself I would be embarrassed by the way we were treated.

On a positive note the lady working at the concierge by the elevator near the ski rentals was incredible. As was everything else at the resort. I would recommend Holiday Valley to others.

Customer service is very good. I got a college pass for night skiing and the college discount was amazing. It is a great deal, especially considering the overall quality of the ski resort. I highly recommend here if you want to ski in Western NY

Nice resort, lots of runs and lifts open even after dark! Rental gear, lesson packages, and lift tickets are also very reasonably priced. Highly recommend if you find yourself wanting to ski in Western New York.

I am from the GTA in Ontario and this ski resort blows any resort in Ontario out of the water. I grew up skiing in Collingwood. When we tried Holiday Valley as a family when I was a young teen we never looked back. Better elevation, less lines, better vibes/atmosphere and more trees. The chalets are beautiful and it has more of a ski town vibe rathrt than mini city vibe places like Blue Mountain have. Highly recommend!

As far as small to mid-sized parks go this is as good as it gets. Tons of runs and the park is fairly spread out so it feels fairly large and if you get bored of one area there are four or five more. The atmosphere is also great. Everybody is friendly and laid back. These days you don't wait too long for runs but I've heard it used to get pretty slammed.

We stopped here twice. Once because we were lost and the second for a bite of food. They were very helpful in giving us directions to where we needed to go. The food was also good. No complaints here.

Ski patrol or Mountain safety don't know how to do their job. Expect people to know when trails are closed without any signs or warnings and then pull passes. A warning would have resulted in the exact same thing as I'm more than happy to cooperate if I know the rules.

Holiday Valley if you read this please talk to the old guy with the mustache (I think his name was Will) and his other oldish friend with the glasses. They certainly made sure I never spend another dollar at that resort and am passing along this story to everyone who will listen.

The attached photo is not mine but of the same guys who another person had issues with too!! Was blown away when I saw the youtube video of the same guys doing the exact same thing. Must have been doing it all day long which baffles me why a sign wasn't posted.

Great place to take family and friends and have a great trip together. Tubing is intense and the shops in town after unique. Nice pubs and breweries if you're into that kind of thing. Of course there's skiing also.

Lots of activities year around at this ski resort. They continue to add to their attractions. The resteraunt has very good food and drinks but a little pricey for us locals. Still a fun place to go to and worth the time to check out.

This is an amazing ski resort, not as many trails open at night vs the day, but nevertheless still has a lot to offer. A little pricy on the food there, but the lift tickets make up for that right away.
We live in Dayton Ohio, it's about 6hrs for us.

Its not too bad. Definitely one of the top places in western New York. Their lift tickets are a little steep, and they don't allow ticket upgrades for people who buy beginner packages (most all resorts do), but rather they require them to buy a full day ticket. Assuming you don't anger Safety Patrol you will have a great time. Tip: skip the dining hall food and get brats at the top of Mardi gras. Cheaper and more filling.

This was my first time at Holiday Valley and I loved it! They have a couple little cabins in the woods and two lodges for food/warm up. They have many runs and lifts. This is as good as it gets in the east unless you want to go to a much smaller place.. Plenty places to lodge and a cute downtown area as well!

Great get away, for us considering it was just over two hour drive. Facility had a huge selection of runs with various skill and technical courses. We didn't go through them all, plus it was so mild that not all runs were open, we still had a great time. My only beef was the price, considering the conversion it was higher than expected, but again lots of runs to choose from. Definitely going back, but I suggest walkie talkies to keep track of friends and family!
