All n all our group of 24 had a good time. My biggest complaint is they need more attentive staff and better customer service. On my first trip up the conveyor to tube down a kid lost hold of his tube and resulted in a literal pile up of 4 people and their tubes in front of me. NO ONE STOPPED THE CONVEYOR. As I attempted to step off the belt to avoid the pile up, I lost footing on the uncleared catwalk along side of the conveyor, nearly falling off the side completely, mind you we were close to the top! I saved myself and bleeding sought a bandage and was directed to another building for care. No offer of a napkin, no look of concern for my well being. Nothing but a bandaid from another patron....

The only thing that was good about it was being able to ski in Missouri. I agree with the other people that there are basically no employee's around to help so don't expect even decent service. No signs indicating which hills are green, blue or black. Over 50% of the lockers don't work and the checking in was pointless being as you bought your ticket online and yet still had to wait in unmarked monster lines which anyone can but in front of you since again....no organization what so ever...

Fun place for kids to learn how to ski. I took my 10, 8, and 5 year old here and they had a blast. Slopes are just long enough for them to enjoy it and learn that basics before heading to a bigger mountain out west.

The tubing is another hot ticket item. A relaxing way to spend a few hours.

It was fun & we enjoyed it, but I don't think I'd go back again if my family wanted to take another ski trip. I would make the longer drive & go to a more professional outfit.

Pros: quickest ski place to get to from my location, & for a lot of others in the mid-south region. Ski school instructor for the kids was fantastic & got them going confidently in an hour. (TIP: get there on a weekday if you need ski school. We put 2 kids in a 5pm Thursday group lesson, & they ended up basically getting a private lesson because the place was empty. I saw the groups for Fri & Sat lessons, & they were pretty packed.)
2 fun & easy bunny slopes for kids to learn on immediately outside the lodge.
Polar Plunge tubing was super fun & a good alternative if someone doesn't want to ski.

Cons: The staff was not very helpful & as first-timers to this facility, we would've appreciated more direction with gear & advice on navigating the trails. Trails weren't clearly marked with names or difficulty level, so we had to look at a map & try to figure what was what. Our whole first day was definitely eaten up just trying to figure out the process & the layout with 2 first-time-skier kids in tow. Staff would give advice if asked, but I'd have to go hunt for someone. They weren't readily available to steer you if you were standing around the gear hall or lodge looking lost.
The 2 bunny slopes can be skied continuously (one meets the other), but you have to pull off your skis & walk part of the way back up if you wish to ski from the top of the 1st one all the way to the bottom of the 2nd one. Lift only takes you to the top of the 2nd one, then you have to walk a good piece uphill & catch the 'magic carpet' back to the top of the 1st one.
We had to wait several hours after opening time on a Fri for the place to start operating the only lift for the bunny slope. This meant if you skied that slope at all during the first few hours, you had to walk the whole way back up. They said it was because they were waiting for more employees. Seems like they need to work on their staffing & get it right for their busiest days.
Super long lines for Polar Plunge. Only got to go down on the tubes 3 times in our 2+ hour session. We did the tubing on a Saturday, so maybe it wouldn't have been so busy if we'd chosen another day.
As another reviewer stated, the food in the lodge is PRICEY. Bring you a cooler with snacks/drinks to leave in the car. After buying the lodge food 1x, we hit a grocery store & came prepared to make our own lunches the rest of the trip.

All in all, it will still be a nice family memory, but I won't be back.

3 runs in 2 hours due to poor management and crowd control....many lanes often unoccupied, folks are slow to exit course. Hidden Valley should find ways of.moving their lines along quicker or implement a cap on total tickets sold.

I have never been here but I think it is a huge loss for the metro surrounding area. Here comes more residential development and traffic for the commuters out there... Less green space. Way to go Wildwood!

Long lines and longer wait times. Left after 1.5 hours and only tubed twice. Non-caring employees and parents that dumped their kids to use the "Resort" as a babysitter seemed to be the norm. We won't be back. Sorry. We had high expectations and thought this was great to have in our own backyard but I can spend money and wait in lines in several places. Watched a young man try to get on the conveyor belt. He fell no less than 4 times. Finally he sat on it. The employee standing right beside him never spoke to him let alone offer to help.

Good skiing. They were under staffed for the busy holiday weekend, with long lines at the front lifts and at the food service. Terrible line at the ski rental. The second lift at the main hill was only open for about an hour all day, calling a long line at the other lift. Lift lines were usually short on the backside of the mountain.
Overall a good place to ski in the Midwest.

It s a great place to take children to learn how to ski. It s $80.00 for lift tickets and equipment rentals a day. Saturday is to buisy.
Standing in line for the lifts is to long. About 20 minutes or longer. Not worth the money on a Saturday. The tube ride was fun. 3 hours for &25.00. Did not ride on Saturday so I don t know how long the lines were. We went on a Friday and we didn t have to wait. Walk up a small incline then hop on a conveyer belt the rest of the way never had to wait.

Excellent for skiing, if you are a beginner you can pay a class, you can rent everything there, more or less 80 usd renting only the skis and paying the entrance, but it is worth it, the experience is unique

We were pretty disappointed with the Polar Plunge tubing experience. Short on staff for parking, the ticket line, the lift, and the slopes. It was really busy and they kept selling more passes. I understand they have to make $ while they can but today was not a good experience. We likely won't be back. Paying $78 for 2 kids and an adult to go down twice and it taking about an hour each time was too much.

Hidden Valley was a great place for first time zip lining. Professional staff guided us through an intro video and helped us gear up. We started out on a practice zip line...then quickly moved on the 3 larger ones. One special feature is the two parallel zip lines, so we could race or interact on our way down. The view was fabulous as we travel above or through the valley. I highly recommend this tour. A special thank you to the staff Josie, Emily, Ava and Taylor, all of you helped make our day. The resort was ok but it needed a better terrain park but I lost my pickup keys while boarding so we were stuck 4 hours from home and and didn t know what to do but one of the managers, Josiah went out of his way to help us out and even took us to a car rental place at the airport 40 minutes away because everything else was closed by that time! Thanks again Josiah!

First time ever going for snowboarding (I went tubing like 7 years ago) and I have to say I freaking loved it! Everyone was really nice and very helpful. The nice lady in the pro shop was super nice and very helpful. No one made fun of me no matter how many times I fell, they all just helped me out. I will definitely be a repeat visitor every year!

Been going here for decades. So many memories!!!! My ONLY complaint is there isn't a decent intermediate or advanced beginners slope. They have a great bunny slope and another that is just a touch more challenging, but there seems to be a huge skill gap from the other main slopes.

The slightly more advanced slope isn't very long but is long enough to keep it fun for the kids.

With Missouri weather the slopes can change from slow and slushy.. To icy speed demons in minutes so be aware when dusk comes.

I'm so glad that the skiers of Missouri spoke out against the insane residents and the cowards of the local council board trying to shut down the place. My big middle finger is in the air right now.

See you on the slopes!!!

Do not go in expecting great service.

Do not go in expecting great service.

For Christmas, we got a season pass for tubing. We have never been there before, so we didn't know what to do when we arrived. We walked to the tube ticket counter, stood in line, and tried to give them the gift certificate. Music was too loud to hear anything the kid was trying to tell us, but we eventually heard him tell us we needed to go to the main ticket counter. Fine. We walked all the way back to that counter. Once to the front of that line, we were told to go to the tube ticket counter. We didn't. Eventually, the kid handed us three sticker and three metal clips, and that was that. He didn't tell us what to do with them; I had to ask.

We left that window to return to the tube windows to submit the waiver. We asked what to do next, and the damn music was too loud to hear anything the kid was saying. We asked if a minor must ride solo or if we can ride in one tube. He offered some muffled, inaudible reply. We walked away and just got two tubes. We dragged them halfway up the hill, where we found someone at the conveyer belt who informed us that each person needs a tube. So, I walked down the hill and dragged a tube up. Finally, we're able to tube, and it "only" took 40 minutes to get started.

Once underway, things were good. The hills take about 25 seconds and the tubes travel fast. The lines on the hill moved fairly quickly. Overall, we had fun. We weren't impressed with anyone who works there.

Oh...and...that gift certificate for the season...

The kid gave us a damn DAY pass. We didn't know this until leaving. We lose out on return trips due to ineptitude. GET BETTER PEOPLE AT THE TICKET WINDOWS.

We always have a great time at hidden valley beautiful views and scenery. I'm also pretty sure this is the only place to go skiing in Missouri.... The ski slopes are awesome for our area and the tubing hill is great and such a blast. The conveyer belt ride up the hill is a bit sketchy but definitely helps you not get so worn out. Took the family cause we haven't had much of any snow in the past few years. it was a bit pricey but worth every penny. If you've never been here it's a great place to take your family, worth the drive and the money.

Hidden valley is a St Louis gem. Skiing is great when it is cold. There are several kinds of hills.
The new zip line course is a lot of fun. I highly reccomend it. Their brake system is wonderful.
Staff is friendly and helpful.

If you're a beginner like me, don't accidentally end up on the expert slope. The lift takes you to the top and it's not readily apparent that there are five different paths down. I tried following my nine year old, got cut off by a wreck, and ended up on an icy expert slope all alone. Other than this near-death experience, I had an absolutely wonderful time!
