The food is amazing, 5 stars for the food. Decent prices for very high quality. However the service was absolutely terrible. It took them more than 20 min just to get our drink order. We will give them a second chance bc the food was so good.

Well the food was great but it was crazy hot outside and the server asked if we want to sit outside. I said no, we would like to sit inside please. They sit us in this sort of covered patio at a table in the corner with the giant window open and our corner was the only spot in the patio with no fan. So the food was great but we sat there sweating the whole time which really sucked. The server seemed to forget about us completely so I had to go find him for the check so we could get out of there before we died of heatstroke.

This used to be mine and my hubby's favorite back when they first opened (ya know back when it was a not-so-stylish restaurant but had something to prove, serving really great food at super reasonable prices. Yeah loved that place.) Well we went today to give it another shot because we've noticed the quality sliding slowly the past few years. It was not a good day. Hard rice, warm crab, huge chunks of trash lettuce in my kani salad....what the heck is going on? So I did what I never do. I asked to speak to a manager. I told him, I want no discount, but I've noticed the quality sliding. The bar in the "outside" area is super trashy, the food not as good. He said he tried the rice and it was fine. He'd give us a 10% discount, which I did not want. So if you want great sushi like they used to serve, don't look here. I'm sad to write this review. It's been my favorite restaurant since they opened but it is not what it used to be.

The atmosphere was great the aquarium in the floor is really nice but the food was bland with not alot of seasoning I was shocked to look around and see the awards they had won on the wall because my meal was not good and I have had better Japanese food at places that were six and seven dollars a plate and we're basically fast food Japanese

Just not really a fan of this place. I wasn t wowed by any of the sushi rolls I tried they all kind of just seemed anywhere America sushi rolls to me. Their crab salad was good. Server was awesome. Ambiance was nice. But I don t want to eat here again. If you do end up eating here make sure and get the tempura cheese cake cuz it s pretty dank.

We've stopped here several times for lunch after shopping at Sam's just around the corner. The food is very good, seating is ample, with cozy booth seating up front and also a large, sunny, nicely appointed room for busy times and larger groups. This place is on a side street, right off Patton Ave. Easy to get to, plenty of parking. Wheelchair access is easy.

Laughably bad, falling apart rolls you may as well eat as a laxative. Almost every "premium" roll has crab imitation or fried ingredient in it.

Soy sauce bottles were old and sticky. Spicy tuna roll was somewhat passable, philadelphia roll had pieces of incredibly chewy smoked salmon, euphoria roll was completely bland.

Service was good.

Please, do yourself a favor and go to Mr. Sushi on Hendersonville Rd. instead.

We were seated very quickly, the place was very quiet and not many people at all were inside. Once seated, we waited for 20-25 minutes and even though servers were walking by us and seeing we weren't in our menus, no one even came by to take an initial drink order. We ended up leaving and went to Zen Sushi of Asheville for a much better experience.

Best seafood this far inland. I'd forgotten how good it was. We haven't been to green tea in a few years and I don't know why. Just got back from Christmas dinner with the in-laws. All of us moved to the mountains from the beach. Green Tea had their A game on for the holiday. They serve amazing sushi, can American-ize for your mom (chicken tempura, salad with ranch, white rice, thank you for having that option for our more vocal guests), decent wine list, a few local beers, incredible service (especially considering how insane Christmas dinner was). I'm absolutely over the moon about how wonderful our meal was. Thanks y'all! Merry Christmas!

Always fresh seafood! I frequent many sushi restaurants and typically eat chirashi or nigiri style sushi which demands fresh, clean fish. They have the best sushi in Asheville as well as great rolls that my wife enjoys. If you're looking for great sushi in Asheville, start here.

Ordered take out chicken teriyaki and hibachi chicken, drove 20 minutes home. Teriyaki was maybe 5 vegetables and super moist chicken, no white sauce, and the rice was a giant clump that I could barely cut up with a knife! So I called the manager to give him a chance to make it right and he was a complete jerk, Actually said you no like the food you bring it back, And he said that the hibachi chicken should come with two white sauce but there was absolutely none in the bag, he claim to put it in the bag himself! I had to wait 10 minutes to talk to him because he was outside smoking a cigarette. You could go to any Sakura and pay $12 for a meal that will be 10 times better, $34 for two horrible meals is absolutely ridiculous ... never ever eat at this place !!!

Food is mediocre, service is collaboratively poor....

Food is mediocre, service is collaboratively poor. We (2 of us) arrived at 1:30pm, far past the lunch rush. The restaurant was about a third full. We walked up to the please be seated sign on a counter. A server was behind the counter, and didn't acknowledge us for over a minute, then told us someone else would be with us. So we waited a few more minutes, and she ended up seating us. We were sat on the more open air section, where 5 other tables were occupied. We waited about 15 minutes, while four separate staff members tended to the other tables multiple times. Not once during this period did any of these four staff members glance over at our table (or a table that wasn't "theirs") to see if we had been helped or needed anything. Finally the original server who sat us came over and asked if we had been helped, to which I replied. "No." She apologized, took our drink order and food order. Another 10 minutes pass, still none of the other servers checking to see if a table that wasn't "theirs" needed anything, and finally our server returns with our water and salad. After this point, the rest of our food came out without excessive delay. Still none of the other wait staff checking on any table that wasn't theirs, no topping of water, etc. There were even a few staff members who passed by our table, and avoided eye contact with me. By the time we were done with our food, all the customers except one table had left, some of the staff were cleaning up, and one staff member had been standing in the corner for more than 5 minutes reading her phone. Won't return.

The scallop appetizer was a 10, easy. To have raw garlic with a sharp crunch along with the other sauce was such a treat. Everything was great, expected prices for quality level, service was great, great presentation and I like the interior design.

The food and service were great. I had the sushi lunch special and my wife had the vegetarian sushi, vegetable dumplings, and agedashi tofu. Everything was delicious, and the vegetarian sushi was a real treat- thoughtful and varied, not just a token cucumber roll.

Unprofessional = Will Never Return

Unprofessional = Will Never Return
I have been a big fan of this restaurant for the past 5 years and it has been wonderful to see the restaurant grow and become sustainable. Based on my prior experiences, I decided to bring a friend visiting from out of town to this place. I called at 9:30pm to see what time they closed, and they told me they closed at 10:30pm. When I arrived at 10:00pm, they told me they were already closed. I didn't think much of it. I was just hoping they would refund or credit me the money I spent on a taxi to get there, but instead the owner (Tony) threatened to forcefully remove me via the cops. I calmly explained to him the situation, but Tony was not having any of it. I further went back a month later to resolve the miscommunication and he threaten me once again to have me removed. I am a business owner in the hospitality industry as well and baffled as to the lack of customer service shown by their owner. With the two poor experiences, I cannot recommend this establishment to any of my friends, peers or colleagues.

You have been warned. Beware of the customer service should anything go wrong.

My husband and I eat here relatively often. We are always pleased with the food, and usually pleased with the service. We're not the most adventurous eaters but we've been happy with everything we've tried on the menu thus far.

The only meal I ate at Green Tea was uninspired, bland, and disappointing compared to other area restaurants. (Wasabi in downtown Asheville is the best, in my opinion.)

The special sushi rolls at Green Tea are very basic, lacking creativity and unique flavor profiles. The space is spall, and instead of feeling intimate, it feels cramped. There is no privacy when the next table is a two feet away from you.

To be fair, I have only eaten here once, and will update the review the next time I visit.

Good sushi, but definitely one of the pricer places in town. On my last visit I was surprised when they would not custom make one of my favorites anymore. They said they weren't making a "sunrise" anymore because they had the sunrise basket that they were making. I searched through the menu and never found the sunrise basket. Considering they are one of the most expensive sushi places in town, I would expect them to be a little more accommodating to their guests.

I'll still go if it is a place where group conscientious dictates, or a birthday celebration is being held. But it will Never be a place that I suggest. There are plenty of really good Sushi places in town that don't charge as much!

I love green tea. It's one of my favorite places to get sushi. They also serve the absolute best Pad Thai I've ever had. The food is always good and fresh. The atmosphere is lovely and they have clean restrooms.
I only gave 4/5 stars because, it is a bit expensive, especially if you go after lunch. Also, if you get take out you must check the bag before you leave. Otherwise it's a great place to eat.

Two weekends ago, We dined out There, it was my husband and me. We experienced really poor service. The waiter was in a hurry and then the food took more than usual to be served, we were thinking in getting a dessert but the waiter never came back; so we decided to go to the cashier and asked for the check. We totally understand that It is a difficult job and, as a waiter, you cannot control every element of the dining experience, even though you are the face of the dining experience. For us the food there is AMAZING but we won't be dining there nearly as much as before.
