Gerych's Events and Flowers Review

So disapponted with what happened today!
I called Gerych s and asked about hanging flower baskets. The lady I spoke to told me they had some and I told her I was on my way. I heard they were doing a drive thru service but I can t roll my windows down at the moment so I figured my son and I would just walk up to see how we could buy them or just tell them what we wanted. The lady that greeted us told us, and I quote come on in! Then proceeded to tell me where the hanging baskets were located, in the green house. My son and I walked around for about 5/10 minutes and found what we wanted. A different employee started approaching me, I figured she was coming to help us. The woman says, Due to the governor we re going to have to tell you to leave because you re not wearing a mask. I then told her, that was fine, we already knew what we wanted and I asked her if she could just grab the baskets, I d pay for them and we could leave. She denied us the sale and told me she couldn t cash me out because I wasn t wearing a mask and that we had to leave. Before I could even get upset, my 7 year old son says, Mom, why did they just do that to us? That was so mean . So I sat in my car thinking, why was I denied the sale of flower baskets? Are they not like restaurants that are doing take-out orders right now? Social distancing but still selling the essentials? It didn t make sense to me, so I called the store. I said Hi, I was just thrown out of your green house because I wasn t wearing a mask and was denied the ability purchase 2 flower baskets, is there anyway I can give you my credit card number over the phone and you can just bring them to my car? The woman said they could absolutely do that! I gave her my info, 5 minutes later two girls brought out both baskets apologizing for what happened and loaded them into the back of my vehicle.
Now here s my problem,
1. The employee I talked to on the phone never told me I had to have a mask on or I d be unable to purchase anything.
2. An employee invited us into the greenhouse even though I didn t have a face mask on.
3. Why would an employee deny me service without telling me another way I could complete the sale without being inside the green house?
I was discrimated against because I wasn t wearing a mask. How sad that our own human rights have been taken away but only at certain places.

I still have gerych s $50.00 today, I even had to figure out a way to make it possible because I wasn t given any other options other than to simply leave. But I promise, I will never spend another dime at this place. Born and raised in Fenton for 28 years and never thought this type of treatment would ever happen to me at a hometown business. So sad!
