A beautiful place to visit, picknic, be in the outdoors without "roughing it". Paved trails make it easy for strolling the little ones around to see all the birds. Activities everywhere for them to experience and the folks in the nature center are perfectly suited to their work. Very kind, considerate and knowledgeable. A great way to spend some time.

Lovely nature center with great programs for kids off all ages. Cute sensory walking trail, playground, live animal displays, butterfly garden, educational toys, and more. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Lots of parking and pavilions for picnics. I defiantly recommend this little gem in the Catoctin region.

This Park is very clean and spacious. it has a lot of trails, and things to do for the kids. Behind the Natural Center is a natural trail with activities along the trail. This Natural Center trail is not dog friendly - no dogs allowed. All other trails are dog friendly. I took the trail that took me to the creek. The creek is nice and peaceful, and I saw a little tiny frog camouflaged into the pebbles. It has a playground for the kids, restrooms, and some ruins.

A great park that has paved paths and unpaved paths. It has several shaded picnic tables and a nice playground for kids. You can also go down toward the stream. There are various programs and the staff in the center are friendly and helpful.

Great park to take younger kids. The property is well maintained. There are walking trails both paved and unpaved. The nature center is clean and has a great program. They do offer programs over there summer. We have been there for birthday parties and school field trips. Both have been great. The park has hosted youth cross country meets. This was one of the more difficult courses due to the hills. Plenty of parking. Clean restrooms. The playground is great.

This place is great for children. There is a full playground, trails, regular activities, live exhibit of snakes, turtles, tarantula, hissing cockroaches, stuffed animals etc... There are scheduled activities for children and they have wireless internet available.

One of the more hidden gems of Frederick County's park system. A real treat, there are trails leading down to Catoctin Creek as well as a fantastic nature center. Don't tell too many people about it, or it'll be crowded!

Amazing but small nature center. The building and animals inside are cool but what's really cool is the whole park. I saw birds and butterflies I never see, great little trails and a Creek. More to the point the Park service runs some amazing programs there. I highly recommend the summer camp.

Do you miss walking on grass? This place offers a little bit of everything. Start behind the visitor's center for a short sensory walk on a shady path. Then head inside the visitors center to see a small, but well stocked reptile exhibit. Your little kids will enjoy splashing on Pebble Beach. It's rocky, so I recommend water shoes. Take a stroll on grassy or paved paths. It's calm and relaxing. There is also a small playground. Picnic tables also available. Bathroom was open and very clean. Loop
