ex-Sofitel Brugge Review

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The room was clean and spacious with an extremely comfortable bed. However with the cold temperatures outside the room would have been perfect if it had a better quality heating system as it did could get quite cold.
Such a great location close to the town centre and various transport links.
I made use of the gym downstairs which was very nicely laid out with the necessary equipment. Would have been better if it had two treadmills as there was queue for the solitary treadmill on offer.
The best part about the hotel was the exemplary staff. So helpful, well mannered and eager to help us in any way possible.

Clean. Ideal location. To reach the car park, a hundred meters away, you have to do, if you are by car, a long journey but at the reception they immediately supported me. The center is within walking distance in 10 minutes. Great.

Great hotel just off center city in Bruges. Very friendly and accommodating staff. The room was totally comfortable and clean. Breakfast was included in our stay. Their breakfast buffet has everything anyone could want! I wish I had taken some pictures inside. Beware: there is a fake site out there claiming this hotel had a pool. It does not, and never did.

Beautiful establishment beautiful decoration, very professional and friendly staff. We can have something to eat at any. The team always willing to serve you and offer you help. I will return without problem. Very nice experience.

Bruges is a lovely place. Plenty to see lovely food

Super location, decor is bit dated, but the friendly staff makes up for that.

Somewhat older, but still high quality. The bathroom could be renovated. Perfect location for a sightseeing trip in Bruges.

Good hotel, very clean and sanitized. Helpful staff and great service. Full breakfast, many varieties and it's delicious, it pays off. Near the city center you can walk a little, about 10 minutes free parking. Highly recommend hotel!

Nice clean hotel ... Room was a little dated but good enough for a couple of jights

The place is well located, clean, bed super comfy, breakfast buffet had many options to choose from, hotel has it's own charm but needs some refurbishment as feels a bit old and rundown. Enjoyed our stay.

What you expect from NH. Breakfast buffet very good and extensive. Rooms somewhat dated but clean. Only downside. It is always so hot in the room. Heating always stays high.

Location good, right at the center, good size rooms, spacious and clean, breakfast extensive but the bread not as fresh as promised.

Room adequate but not worth the 5 stars (1 bedside lamp that did not work, bathroom with rust drips on the fault of the shower (bathtub),
The rim of the bath tub damaged and shower head that did not hold!
On the other hand, very nice and friendly staff always ready to provide you with information.

It is a good position for Bruges, 15 minutes walk from the station. Unfortunately our trip was spoilt by a bad smell in the room. There were no alternative rooms available during our stay (a 60th birthday weekend).
Staff tried to rectify the problem, to no avail and no apologies or explanation as to the cause.
This was disappointing. On returning home all our clothes (the clean ones) needed washing as the smell came home with us.

Pleasant staff, quick room service, nice food, the hotel room was a little tatty with ceiling damaged and bathroom glass panelled door was missing net curtains so that there was no privacy. Other than that very comfortable bed, nice location. Will be even better once T Zand Square has been reconstructed. Recommend visiting Bruges

Old and the air conditioning did not work .. unfriendly staff

We were there for 4 days and we really enjoyed it. Staff sometimes even spoke German, but definitely English and was very friendly. The room was cozy and the bathroom was very chic and clean. Towels were changed every day. Overall, I really liked the decor in the hotel. On Sundays you can even have breakfast until 12 noon, good selection at the buffet. Location is good, the market can be reached in a few minutes on foot. There was a good concept for protection against corona. The only criticism: there is no own parking lot, but according to the descriptions on the Internet, we assumed that there was one. There is a large parking garage just around the corner, but this is not part of the hotel.

I generally stay at NH hotels when traveling for business, but I can honestly stay that the staff at the Brugge one went beyond my expectations to provide an excellent service and to ensure I had everything I needed during my stay. A highly recommended hotel in one of Europe's greatest cities

Easy parking, good service and exceptional conditions

For an NH and given the stars I expected a lot more ... to modernize for sure.

Frankly this hotel does not deserve 4 stars. Dilapidated rooms not well looked after. Mold in the bathtub yellowed drapes. Staff not very welcoming. The only little extra was the breakfast. Otherwise you can find much better around

Nice Hotel, located in a quite area not too far from the center or the railway station... definitely recommend it, if you want peace and quite after a day of tourist activity...

Nice hotel. Needs to have a renovation to clean and repair wall and floor damage. It s a bit beaten up. But the bed is comfortable. The shower tub is standard for Europe but not quite what an American would expect.

Nice, smaller, somewhat dated hotel, very centrally located. One thing bothered us a lot, but it is not the hotel's fault: for years we have been talking about our environment and how we have to avoid waste. Because of an alleged 'pandemic', it all seems to have become irrelevant! At breakfast there was so much plastic waste per person that would have made any fast food consumer of the 80s pale with envy. Get rid of the hard-earned environmental protection measures! Thanks to the months of scaremongering of the 'quality media', our environment can now be properly polluted again to end a moderate flu wave that has been over for months ....

The location of the hotel is very good, the center of the city can be reached on foot in 10 minutes. The room is clean and the breakfast was good too.
The room was quite worn out, which is not a catastrophe in itself, but a lot of small things come together (such as broken tiles, the sockets not in accessible places, toilet flushing almost not etc.) It all works, but for a 4 star hotel a bit too less.
And what bothered us the most: it is written everywhere in the descriptions that there is a parking lot. But there is only one possibility to park in a parking garage without the hotel having any spaces or something. It's not bad, but why advertise it if it just has nothing to do with the hotel.

Excellent location, right across road from bus station. 10 minutes walk to Markt. Room dated but clean and well equipped. Good bar and breakfast in restaurant was excellent. Every member of staff we came into contact with was courteous and polite. Hope to return some day.

High noise from the ventilation and the cold room of the kitchens, we were on the 3rd floor and the noise was very disturbing to sleep pleasantly (we were awake in the middle of the night: restarting machines?). No solution found by the manager in charge although other rooms were available because open to booking. We will not be returning to this hotel that we do not recommend.

Staff are great, location on the Zand square makes arrival a snap. The NH hotel has taken over a hotel structure that has been retro fitted to a former Monestary. It has atmosphere, but could do with better attention to detail from the cleaning staff. This issue may have been fixed by the time you read this....

Blissful beds. Tasty and varied breakfast. Friendly staff.

This was my second time of staying in this hotel, the last over two years ago. I found the rooms in this time to have degraded slightly especially the bathroom that is in need of decorating. There was evidence on the ceiling of black mould above the bath that needs addressing. The room is spacious enough and beds are very large and comfortable. The breakfast and evening meals were of a very high standard and were very tasty. The staff were very helpful and courteous l would not hesitate in recommending this hotel.

The room was clean, with very comfortable beds but a bit smeelly. Breakfast was amazing!! The best breakfast I've ever had!! Regarding the staff I cant say that they were not polite but it would be good to be more 'smiley'.

Very pretty hotel, a mere 15 min away from almost anywhere in the city.

I got it around the Christmas holidays and the whole hotel was really well decorated and there are many small decorations that fit the the general vibe.

We have been delighted with the attention and services by all the staff of the hotel. A very pleasant stay. We will repeat with NH.

Not the best hotel experience we have had. Location-wise it is perfect, being a 10-15 walk to every notable landmark in Bruges and surrounded by dozens of Bars, Cafes & Restaurants. The breakfast buffet was decent enough. Unfortunately the hotel decor is dated, especially in the room we were allocated (239). Alongside this there was no view from our window other than onto a rooftop, this seemed to be an issue for a lot of rooms on the 2nd floor. We also had a fridge which made noises throughout the night that woke me up AND there was a constant buzzing from the vent shaft which also made getting off to sleep difficult. Had we stayed longer than 2 nights I would have complained but after long days walking I did not have the energy to moan. Probably better out there for the money we paid.
