Just had a spa break here this weekend. Cannot praise it enough.!!
Fabulous room with complimentary spa pack and chocolates as a special occasion.
Lovely Food...great staff..especially Louise on reception who took the time to chat with us about our stay at the hotel.
Spa facilities very good and very clean...the only negative would be that spa was very busy Saturday afternoon which changed the 'relaxing 'atmosphere a little.
However we will certainly be back again soon.!

Unfortunately sadly was a let down previous visit about 6 years ago was amazing. This time it felt like we were to much trouble to deal with. Staff had no manners never smiled. On several occasions we had to ask for more milk, coffee ect would be given 2 that's it and that's after waiting at least an hour. Bath robes we stood around waiting for about an hour as well. Food over priced to. Won't be revisiting

Only thing good about our stay, was the spa and massage, the rooms are very epensive and not worth there prices, well the suites arnt which is what we booked , food was avarage, not what you would expect from a 4* hotel, and we have stayed in many, that have been much nicer for a lot less money, we had very little sleep due to the stairwell and fire door that kept slamming outside our suite, so my advice would be, if you book a suite and they give you room 215 say NO!!

Generally good. Staff helpful. Ideal setting. Small niggles.....no adequate mirror/ lighting close to sockets. Typical of most hotels where designers don't think of women!! Information book on coffee table had sticky substances on surfaces. Shower ran hot/cold intermittently. Poor quality hair dryer...good job I had my own. Always prefer mugs to cups for that first drink in the morning

I expected a little more than a suite in a 4 * hotel for the price paid. The room is spacious and comfortable but has details that do not deserve the 4 stars. Bath wear (it flooded every time you showered) and marks on the ceiling. Lack of maintenance in the air and you found the room cold at night. Light that does not work on the bedside table ...
Otherwise, silent hotel with good services and discreet staff.

This is a rather time warped early 90's hotel. Perfectly acceptable generally. Haunt of Vodafone staff visiting Newbury. Often populated by casually well dressed people engaged in languid conversation possibly loosely connected with business.

Took my girlfriend for the antenatal spa treatment. The treatment she received was perfect. Found the tuna bento a little too salty and would have liked to be warned that it was raw in the middle (as it is not recommended for pregnant women and she could have picked something else). Staff were very friendly. Pool was a little cold for a spa, more suited for swimming.

This spa is beautiful and the service is excellent! My best friend and I come here every couple of months to unwind and have a massage / spa day. The only reason for a drop in the star is because the tiled floor around the pool area is so slippy, barefoot and with the slippers / flip flops provided.

The best part of the experience was the bathroom, which was lovely. Large with a bath and a shower, it could not be faulted!
The worst was the breakfast, although it was supposed to start at 7am, the hot food was not put out until 7.20am on Saturday and 7.40am on Sunday. As we hoped to leave early both days this disrupted both days. The food was average.
The bedroom was dated and the carpet stained. The television channels were limited.
The management team seemed to be disorganised and the staff not happy. We will not be staying again.

if you are looking for a relaxing or romantic spa break weekend this is NOT the place. Children splashing and screaming everywhere. More like Butlins only alot more expensive. Service extremely slow,on average a 20 mins wait for any service. Had eaten my breakfast and was still waiting for toast! Weeds 3 inches tall between paving slabs on patio outside pool. Cobwebs around lights at main entrance. Come on guys it's the beginning of the busy season hate to think what it's going to look like in the height of the season. Room was nice and spacious and clean. Something going on with sewerage though abit smelly in bathroom

This hotel is a lovely place with a good spa and gym. The rooms could do with renovation but they are still pretty decent. Ours had damp patches on the ceiling and the bathroom door was warping from an adventurous shower head! Gold course is ok too. Food very nice. Breakfast is the real treat here though with a large spread of everything.

The spa on first judgement was beautiful however all our reservations in the restaurant were messed up. No tables avalible even though we had booked and confirmed on numerous occasions in advance. The spa had limited facilities to begin with and the steam room was out of order. The positives to take from this was the lovely bedroom and the beautiful setting.

Rooms slightly dated but warm at least! Exec room is a decent size and the bathroom was big, with bath and separate shower. Internet so so but much better than the Hilton further down the main road. This place is popular with regular business travellers so book either really early or really late.

I've been coming to Donnington Valley Spa for about 8 years now and every time the experience has been brilliant. Yesterday was no exception. The staff were really helpful as always, there were great Covid measures in place and the facilities were excellent. I look forward to visiting again when this lockdown ends.

We had a great weekend escape to Donnington Valley Hotel and Spa! Which included two spa treatments (facial and Aquaspa) - the staff were lovely and very friendly. The rooms are quite large and very comfy! The restaurant staff were also very friendly however the service was quite slow but we were happy to wait & enjoy our evening. Great breakfast as well! Thank you for a relaxing weekend stay!

It's quite pleasant and comfortable. Nice facilities. The room service takes over an hour though and you have to pay a deposit when you arrive which was confusing... I'm not sure if it was given back to me. The receptionist said my bank basically pay it back to me once I check out of the hotel... I'll update this shortly.

The staff at Donnington Valley are a class act. They are always friendly and very accommodating. The grounds are beautiful, as is the spa.
The breakfasts are always wonderful, as is the restaurant. The bar is very nice, especially if you can enjoy a drink outside by one of the ponds.
