There are a ton of great breweries in Bend, but Deschutes Brewery is pretty special. Great IPAs and amazing Mac-n-Cheese! Always a go-to destination when I have friends in town.

Friendly service, great food and quality, would recommend this place with family and friends.
Best beer in town. Food is good but not great. Really you don't come here for the food. You're here for the beer. And it's worth it.
Exceptional service with great food.
What I liked about this brewery is the spacious rooms I kept running into, the good vibes of people buzzed on great beer, and the beer flight to taste some epic beers on tap.
If you re in Bend, and you appreciate good beer on tap, this is a great place to be, and be happy!
The food, service, and beers were amazing! So glad I was able to visit!
dude. DUDE! As Oregon breweries go, Deschutes has gotten pretty big. You might think they ve lost their luster with so much growth. You might think that waiting 30 minutes to an hour is ridic. But I m telling you, I think it s worth it. As a native Oregonian I have eaten here many times and I ve never been disappointed. Now that I have all these bummer dietary restrictions, eating out is hard. But the only think hard about eating dinner here was that I had too many choices! I had the gluten-free IPA they make and it was really tasty and refreshing. The vegan burger was one of the best meals I ve had out in awhile- the gluten free bun, patty, pickled veggies, arugula, and vegan mozzarella oozing over the sides made it savory delight. I seriously annoyed my dining companions by saying mmmm after every single bite. OMG. Everyone at our table was satisfied. Try it, it s worth it.
Food is delicious, service is great, but it's definitely a tourist hot spot. They have a good selection of beers, but very few options for ciders. Atmosphere is beautiful and Pacific Northwestern
Great place for friends. Great brews and friendly service.
Great food. Amazing beer. The slightly exaggerated ipa was perfect, and Howard our server was upbeat and totally helpful.
Bend classic, great beer, some of the best in oregon, and solid pub food with a great atmosphere.
Black Butte Porter is the best! Our dinners were excellent as was the service. Great friendly staff. Two beverages, two dinners, one dessert, and a generous tip was $60. We left smiling.
Service is top notch and the food never disappoints!
It lived up to expectations. Great food and great beers.
Great food and drink. COVID restrictions are killing small businesses! #stopthemadness
Really liked this place; good space, friendly staff; always insanely crowded though, has that brand name going for it. Solid spot, but not my top recommended brewery for Bend.
Love love love their Ruben sandwich.
Update July 2017 - they've changed the menu. No longer Ruben.. So I had their Elk hamburger, it was too dry, and personally, didn't like it.
Aside for their beers, I don't see that I'll come back for food
What an amazing restautant... excellent flavors, superior service, always clean, right in the heart of downtown. The steak salad is amazing, incredible mac and cheese, always a great meal.
Great food awesome beers. The outside seating was bliss & I had a great time just people watching!!
Delicious! Excellent service too! A great restaurant I would recommend to anybody.
5 Stars for our Son's 21st Birthday
We had a wonderful visit for our Son's 21st Birthday. Beth was our server and made this evening most special for all of us. She interacted with our family and gave us great service. The brew and meals were great. We love the Elk burgers! On the way out, the kitchen staff wished our Son a Happy Birthday. Please let Gary Fish know we said, 5 Stars!! Many thanks. The Pengra Family of Redmond.
Love the make your own beer sampler, you can choose 6 beers or they have 2 preselected offerings.
Surprised by the quality of food, better than expected.
We sat in the bar for over 20 minutes no one came to take our order or speak to us. We left when the people who sat after us had food delivered.
What a fantastic restaurant! The food and drinks are exceptional. It is a bit expensive, ranging from $9-$30+ for a meal with an average around $16. Good beer selection. The service is great, everyone there seems happy! Very cool building as well. I would reccomend shying away from the fish and chips, but try the elk burger! It is superb.
My daughter and I went in just for dessert. We got the Berry cobbler, oh my God amazing. We also got the peanut butter pie holy cow I can't believe it's this incredible. Oh and quite possibly the best root beer EVER!
Great food, atmosphere and service. It hit all my needs!
The service was great but food was overpriced for what it is. The beer is sub par compared others in the area.
As everyone knows, Deschutes not only continually makes solid beers (especially there recent IPAs [Armory and Fresh Squeezed]) but does a great job of creating a varied and delicious menu. Usually quite busy on the weekends so be prepared for long lines.
Typical pub food, dry burgers, terrible fish and chips. Mediocre service. Good desserts, but kind of pricey.
Great food and drinks, family friendly. Staff was incredibly helpful!
2/5 for food and 4/5 for beer, but 5/5 service. All the same, you owe it to yourself to try less widely available Bend breweries instead if you're already familiar with Deschutes beer. Would go back for the beer & friendly service, but wasn't impressed by the food at this or the Portland branch. If it were in a town less Brewery laden, it'd stand out. In Bend, not as much.
Great beer, but due to Governor restrictions the wait is over an hour to even have a beer
It's ok, not the best place in town for burgers. Also, not a full bar.
I can't say that I liked all of the beers in this flight, but I had a great time drinking them. Will come back for normal human sized beers next time im here.
Elk burger and power salad were amazing! Server Sarah was great. Definitely will visit next time we are in Bend! Must experience!
Great atmosphere and food. Not to mention awesome beer!
food was good. not a beer drinker so can't comment on beer. cyder was ok and kinda expensive (more then others beers). took awhile to be seated despite being empty.
From appetizer, drinks to dessert everything was delicious. They have something for everyone.
Good Mac and cheese (it seem more like an Alfredo pasta, but very delicious). Loved the ribeye aged burger. Best I ever had.
This place is not bad, but definitely not the best place in Bend.
Absolutely amazing from start to finish. One lady sat us by another table. The man sitting at the other table wouldn't even move his chair for my husband to sit down. So our server came over and let us move without us even asking. First impression was awesome. We are visiting from out of town and didn't know that a fall festival was going on. Our server brought us a newspaper to show us every going on this weekend. Turned out to be super helpful since we used it all weekend and ended up going to a the pancake wagon thanks to the newspaper! Anyway, service was top notch. Funny and friendly but not over the top! Then on to the food. Freaking amazing! Best soft pretzel I've ever had. But that wasn't even the best part. Their spicy chicken sandwich, omg I am still craving it. 10 stars just on the sandwich. It takes a lot for me to say that. The bread was outstanding. Soft and sweet. Just everything I look for in a good sandwich. Everything came out hot and nicely plated. My husband had their sampler and he enjoyed every beer there was. I wish we lived closer because we would be here every weekend! Absolutely coming back when we came back to Bend some day! Plus this was our anniversary dinner, so glad we picked this place!
Lackluster food and decent brews.
This place must have been something in 1988...
Their tempeh Reuben is about as close to the real thing as I've had since becoming a vegetarian! Food is excellent and the beer is solid. I thought I'd find a brewery that had "solid out" but instead found one that had evolved into a brewpub with excellent food and a consideration towards sustainability that didn't sacrifice their beer. If you want the classic brewery feel eat here and then check out the other smaller local breweries. Christopher provided great service!
Amazing beer. Several exclusives. Great food. Has gotten pretty pricey lately.
Good atmosphere but food and the small menu was disappointing. It used to be good and had many items and food tasted good.
Yum!
Fast friendly service, tasty food, downtown convenient location.
Great jumping off point for the Bend Ale Trail since it s just around the corner from Visit Bend center.
Service was good, despite being busy our server took time to answer our questions about the various beers without being dismissive or judgmental. On that note, the beers were scrumptious.
If you like Deschutes beer you can't go wrong. The food is good and there is enough variety for most.
Tried this spot out for the first time today, and it was long overdue. The atmosphere inside is great. You can see the big cats of beer being brewed and there are some big open brick walls that give it an older charming feel to it.
On to the food, I tried the reuben sandwich because I ve gone my entire life without trying one until just recently and now I m on a kick! The reuben was top-notch. The meat was loaded on there and it was super tender and tasty. The fries were also delish and they have a fry sauce that is worth asking for too!
Good food and good beer, plus they sell funny shirts
Wow, what a great place. Excellent people, great beer.
Great beer and amazing food. Their signature burger has thick slices of bacon and amazing onions. One of their most popular beers is the black butte porter. They also have some amazing bitters and sours. The artichoke dip is worth every penny.
Bend Classic. This is the original Bend microbrew and pub.
Food was terrible compared to the Portland location. Beers seem to have all gone down hill as well. Visiting Bend? Pick another brewery.
The service was really good and the food was delicious, but nowhere on the menu did it say that there would be celery in my meal. I am extremely allergic and when I found the celery in my meal after having eaten almost the entire burger I thought I was totally screwed. I know it seems like a weird request, but this is just a reminder that people with serious allergies should ALWAYS double check that they wont be allergic to anything in their meal and for restaurants to absolutely ALWAYS disclose what will be in the meal, otherwise the results may be extremely dire. I ended up being fine, but the weekend before had gone into anaphylaxis because of the celery I had consumed, so it's very, very important that restaurants respect people's allergies and discloses each and every ingredient.
Love this place. Wonderful servers. Bangin beer. Delicious food. A+++ thank you+!!:)
Great beer, their food was good but not great, the pizza was kind of uninspired.
This place was amazing! The downtown area on Bend is hands down one of the best that Oregon has to offer. The food, service and of course beer were epic! Right down to the customer who started us all singing SWEET CAROLINE!!
Favorite of the night was the Classic Sampler! Xoxoxoxo
Long wait, okay service, okay meal, excellent drinks :)
Service was awesome. The wait was long because it is very popular but they text you when the table is ready so we had a beer across the street. The waitress was quick with our order and the food came out fast! I had the Nashville chicken sandwhich and it was the most DELICIOUS chicken sandwhich I have EVER had. The meat was so tender and juicy and the seasoning is wonderful. We will come again for sure!!
Came in on a Friday afternoon, it was packed. I just wanted a beer and some food so I went to the bar. Really knowledgeable bartenders, great food and fantastic beer. I went here partially because I donated blood at work and they gave out "pint for a pint" coupons--donate a pint of blood, get a free beer. Really like a business that supports the community that way.
Great food, great brews and low-key but attentive service.
Pretzel, garlic truffle parm fries, wings, pizza, and burger. All we're good. The local pizza was our favorite. The meat lovers one was good too. The star of the show was the Black Butte Porter.
Excellent food, service and beer, and the Black Butte whiskey is GREAT
Friendly staff, the fish and chips were delicious and the salad my friend ordered was huge
Great food, great beer, but for the same price, I can have an excellent meal at home with a six pack. If you like dining out however, this is a nice location. Service and staff are knowledgeable and friendly.
Had pretzel and sausage appetizers with flight of beer. Pretzel had a rich, creamy, mustardy sauce for dipping. Service was helpful and attentive. Great experience.
Deschutes has some very tasty if fairly conservative beers.
The food was definitely above average for a brew pub, but while their menu implies they involve their beer in their food, not much of that flavor translates to many of the dishes.
All told, Deschutes is a staple of Bend and is definitely worth a stop for a thirsty traveler.
The beer was "on point", the food was delicious, and the conversation with other patrons was great. What more do you want from a bar?
Beer always tastes better out of the tap, and draft beer always tastes better at the brewery. Deschutes is my all time favorite brewery and they spaced themselves from #2 a little after having some of the pub specialty beers.
We'll be back every time we're in Bend.
when we went in on August 8th to get a table outside, we were told there was a 20 minute wait despite telling the lady working that we saw 2 tables free outside. in confusion we went out to the table anyway hoping a server would stop by and serve us anyway. after waiting about 5 minutes a waitress csme out with another customer telling us to leave. i have never experienced such unprofessionalism from a restaurant before, and i hope for your sake you rectify this poor service we received
wasn't even offeree anything beer or water while waiting.
regards Alex.
I could eat their pizza over and over again forever. Great atmosphere, staff, appetizers, and beer. We went twice during our stay in Bend.
The new addition has seemed to help with wait times. I go here for the beer not the food. Food is a little pricey for what i want to spend on lunch or dinner out.
Great place, great beer. Good, - not exceptional though - hamburgers! Great service!
Solid food, solid beer, cool location, good service.
