This is a definite diamond in the rough!! Excellent customer service and the food was great as well. We were a larger table which was difficult to manage and the staff was egg-cellent!! Bad pun, sue me! Thank you Deacon's Corner!

The food is ok by Vancouver standards, but bland and certainly not worth the cost.
The service though is truly bad, inattentive and at many times during the day (especially weekend mornings) understaffed.
There more and better options a few blocks away in GasTown

Yummy brunch. The eggs Benedict were good, cooked medium as requested...the server asked how I wanted them, which was nice. Best part was the hashed browns. They were better than average for sure.

Inattentive wait staff

Inattentive wait staff
- may forget your order (forgot out beverages)
- if modifications are requested (such as eggs being runny or not) they may be over looked
- food may sit on pass too long and may be served cold
- due to above, food is over priced

Hidden gem!! Food is always amazing with a good price for DT Van. Try pulled pork pancake, or if you have a big appetite, go with big mountie.. You'll be full and happy, guaranteed :) My personal fav is their crispy hash brown, never soggy! BONUS, there's no insane lineup!

Huge portions of food (you seriously could share a meal). Super friendly waitress. So many good things on the menu I had a hard time deciding. Went on a weekend for breakfast and there was no wait to be seated.

Every time I've taken someone here they've loved it. I always order the farmers scrambler and a coffee. Pretty big menu from burgers to biscuits. But I love the scrambler. Great location and friendly service make it a big win.

Come hungry and bring a friend. Big, heavy, creative breakfasts at a great price. The Mountie was a combo of sweet, rich, salty, savoury. Two of us split it and came away full.
The other two ordered biscuits and pork belly and...I'm not sure what all was buried under a mountain of breakfast aka sausage gravy. We tried to figure out what the spice was in the gravy that was so good...but unusual . ..allspice?? Not sure.

Parking is interesting, a lot of dreadlocks hanging around, food looked good except it wasn t what I ordered. Then my food came and it was cold. But they were nice enough to microwave my plate for me so it was really hot. Won t be returning

If you want a bloody BIG serve of a traditional Canadian breakfast, this is THE place. The portion serves are huge but it didn t stop me from devouring the serve of perfectly battered, perfectly juicy chicken tenders - wow! That gravy - if I drowned in it, I would have died a happy man. Friendly service but if you re looking for a healthy meal, the healthiest item is the lettuce garnish on your plate

I love Deacon's Corner, it's a nice little diner that's not too busy, and the food is good. I'm vegetarian and there are lots of options for me. I really like the scrambles and the quesadilla. The waitress is really nice and on top of things. They're doing a great job of handling Covid-19 too. Definitely visit this place.

Not overly impressed with menu selections..... and burger that I had, though was stacked about 3" (with the bun) should have kept the good stuff & dumped the everyday lettuce, etc...that make it reminiscent of just a plain old burger.

Food is great and filling. Not the cheapest place for breakfast but definitely worth it. Service could be a little better but it's not bad. All in all a great spot for breakfast. Have not had lunch but might have to give it a try.

Order from the specialty menu. My last time the I wasn't too impressed. But today's visit totally redeemed the place! The specialty breakfast menu is wonderful! My friend had the pulled pork Montecristo. I had the grits and fried chicken. Both were excellent. And it was 10am on a Saturday and we got a table no problem (after driving past the long line outside Jam Cafe... Not worth it).

Deacon's is a great spot for a no bs breakfast or lunch where there's no line-up or wait and it's just plain old good breakfast food. The coffee is good, and they are even licensed with good beer if that's your breakfast thing. Their chicken and waffles are gratuitous and tasty, salads are fresh and ambiance is classic diner.

I normally don't write reviews, but this time I had to. I went in for a takeout lunch and got the Deacon burger (or something, it was their standard burger) and the menu said "Add Cheddar - $1.00" so I added cheddar. When I finally got my burger back to where I was working, I couldn't help but notice that it was not cheddar but a processed cheese slice. This is disingenuous at best, and really it's a lie and a cheesy one (pun not intended) at that. Today when I was going over my receipts (I work in film and we get reimbursed) I noticed that they charged me $1.50. So $1.50 for a slice of processed cheese which they said on their menu was cheddar. The burger was actually good, as were the fries, but for lying on the menu they get a cheesy review.

This is a special place. One of the top 3 breakfasts I ve had in all of greater Van. The coffee is as great as I make at home. The food is flavorful, imaginative, and fun to eat. The portions are almost comical (could only eat half, and I have a pretty big appetite). Wonderfully kind staff. I ll beat here any chance I get.

Worst food ever.

Worst food ever.

Paid 18$ for a shitty chicken "big deal quesadilla" which barely had 5 tiny quarter sized pieces of chicken in it and none in over half the plate. No salad was presented in the deal and the charge for the order was 14.50$ when the menu says 13.50$
Charged me 2.50$ for a can of coke.
My friend ordered the chicken fried steak, wanted medium rare, and received something stiffer than a shoe.
Inedible, I want my money back, the cooks need to be fired (and learn english), and the owner needs to go bankrupt.
