Thank you for the review, is that all you have to say. It seems like this place really needs to update there procedures; especially the kitchen

At the hotel for a private party weekend. 235 was a fabulous suite. Incredible comfortable bed with the finest sheets of any hotel I've ever stayed in (aka Savoy). Impeccable service from the front desk. Great spa and pool. Overall an outstanding hotel.

I had a lovely stay at the weekend unfortunately it rained that night, however we still wanted to sit outside for breakfast have a coffee and enjoy the view. So we went downstairs to the dining area and asked if we could have our coffees outside and they said this was fine, however the table and chairs were wet from the rain. I asked the waiter if he wouldn't mind getting a cloth to wipe away the water. And his swift response was as you can see I am busy to which I abruptly responded, your not the only member of staff here are you, so you can ask someone on your behalf. Unfortunately the waitress didn't understand and brought out table mats and then some tissue. At this point I just snapped, a cloth just to wipe away some water is not difficult to which I apologised because it was not her fault. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that little bits of detail can spoil an experience and on this occasion it did for me.

We stayed here for a wedding and it's a fabulous place but very expensive with it.
We had a clean modern room but it was no better than a premier inn room.
The staff are wonderful, charming and the ambiance of the surroundings helps to make our stay a relaxing experience.

My partner booked a 2-night spa break at Danesfield House Hotel & Spa, for my birthday and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here.
Upon check-in, we had a very friendly man take our bags to our room and showed us how to use the thermostat. The room was wonderful! We had a super king bed (so comfy), a bath and a sink in the bedroom, with a separate toilet and shower. The light in the toilet was automatic, but turned off quite quickly, so when showering or using the toilet, you had to wave, to turn it back on again. We were also only provided with one toilet roll. Luckily I brought my own, but I'm sure they would give you one if you requested it. We had a kettle and tea cups/ glasses but no tea bags or milk, which we had to request. However, it came very quickly.
The spa was lovely. We booked a couples massage, followed by a pedicure for myself and a foot massage for my partner. The staff were so friendly and great at their jobs. The pool was also lovely, with a jacuzzi.
The food was delicious at the Hotel. However, the bacon and eggs were overcooked at breakfast. We had afternoon tea on the second day, which was amazing! Again, the staff were extremely friendly.
The upper Thames is close to my heart and the views from the grounds are amazing! If you don't want to stay in, Reading is around 20 mins from the hotel, Henley is about 10 mins one way and Marlow is 10 mins the other way, so there is plenty to do.
In conclusion, we would definitely stay here again.

Disappointed with quality of extremely expensive room. Dusty with stains on carpet and upholstery. Cramped old fashioned bathroom. Wouldn't return. I think Danesfield relies too much on picturesque setting. Needs refurbishment.

We booked to stay at The Danesfield House Hotel for 2 nights. It was a surprise for my sister's 40th birthday, she is currently going through an extremely tough time with her chemotherapy and was in need of some peace and quiet as well as some well deserved pampering. The hotel staff, restaurant staff and the Spa staff were extremely helpful, kind and made our stay that extra bit special. Thank you very much, we hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a very happy new year.

Lovely room but bed moves away from headboard as it was on castors on tiled floor. Couldn't lean back to watch TV. Shower door leaks all over the floor so much so the floor towel gets completely saturated and water runs through to the WC. Cutlery and plates were not as clean as one expects. We did however enjoy our stay.

Went for drinks on the terrace , not particularly busy but waited so long that I phoned reception from the terrace to order drinks !
General lack of interest from the staff I would give 0 stars if I could .

Very nice stay at Danesfield House Hotel for our anniversary. Lovely room overlooking the river in the distance. Had dinner and the food was of a high standard. Also had cream tea which was also good. Expensive but would recommend for special occasions.

Disappointing. As a gluten free customerr my sandwiches ....bought bread and super thin filling...... Dry and heartless. Cakes...... mr Kipling did well to supply you with the variety. Where was your pastry che f today? The pot of fresh tea was lovely. For 30 pounds plus service charge I was extremely dissapointed but I could not complain in front of my friends. I come regularly to your hotel for coffee i suggested your hotel as the perfect venue for our celebration.
I do hope you never have to have a gluten free afternoon tea at your hotel.

Staff here are brilliant, warm welcoming and nothing is too much trouble.
The hotel is beautiful and the views over the river Thames are breathtaking.
Dinner was delicious and very reasonably priced.
The only downside is that the main hall can be chilly in winter

We had our wedding here and go back every year to celebrate our anniversary. They are amazing and provide an incredible personal service. Highly recommend the massages at the spa, the afternoon tea on the terrace or just to have a wonder around the stunning gardens! One of the most beautiful hotels

I have never stayed here overnight, but I have come here for functions, meals and meetings over the past 10 years. The service is always excellent, the building and grounds are well-maintained.

During the Second World War the building was used by the RAF to analyse aerial reconnaissance photographs and was instrumental in detecting the V1 and V2 rocket programmes, and in developing the D-Day invasion plans.

For me, their best offering is the afternoon cream tea which comprises dainty sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, and a wide selection of teas served in the orangery with its views of the hotel grounds. Its not cheap, but the portions are generous - you will not be disappointed!

Fantastic experience day at the Illuminata Spa. Very welcoming and relaxing. Staff are fantastic and helpful. It loses a star because despite mentioning when booking and again on arrival, it was a problem that we had a vegan in our group - given the price this should have been sorted before!!!

Delightful. Charming county house, now a hotel, with an interesting history. The gardens looked beautiful but rain arrived after our "high tea" so we were not able to wander and enjoy - a good reason to revisit.

I went for afternoon tea at Danesfield on Thursday afternoon. It was incredible. Fantastic service, great food and most importantly a beautiful atmosphere. From the moment you arrive, you are greeted by a receptionist/concierge and shown to your table. The waiters are extremely polite and we had a beautiful glass of champagne to accompany our afternoon tea. If you are looking for somewhere to treat someone to afternoon tea, look no further! Thank you Danesfield!

Had a Spa weekend for my birthday with friends. A most enjoyable stay , service excellent , an unexpected birthday cake with card from management and the team was a real surprise on arriving to my room. The staff at the Spa were friendly and our treatments were good, the relaxation room was very comfortable . The food amazing , service in restaurant great. At breakfast they only had scrambled eggs , I asked if it would be possible for poached , nothing was too much trouble and they arrived very quickly! The only down side was guests attending a wedding were not considerate when going back to rooms during the night , but out of the control of staff. Rita at reception was lovely. We will be back in Feb/March for another friends birthday , also plan to bring my elderly mother for afternoon tea in the Summer when the grounds will be more enjoyable . My birthday weekend was a real treat thank you to all the staff.

Visited the spa for a treatment and other than having to wait for a group of 'ladies who lunch' (at their husbands expense, and aren't shy in letting everyone know about it) to sort themselves out, completely monopolising the reception staff had a great experience

The staff were pleasant, efficient and professional

Great grounds, well maintained inside, unfortunately had something of a poor service experience at lunch and after a day's consideration felt obliged to write them. They never even bothered to write back or even acknowledge the email.

Amazing location, lovely bedroom, spa swimming pool is very nice, from facilities point of view, it s a great choice for a short escape from London. The service though, is a bit poor, staff is kind, but the service standards do not match what is charged for the rooms or meals. Breakfast to simple for the price, is similar to any airport hotel chain, just the room is nicer. Attention to detail is not there in what concerns service, but we are charged as if that was in place. I would come back, but just for the room and lively gardens, all the rest needs improvement.

Had a lovely stay at the house, the spa is great - pool a little cold.
Room was beautiful but we had been upgraded. All the staff were lovely and attentive.
Only improvement needed is on breakfast, I just felt it let the place down as they should offer fresh cooked full English as the buffet is not replenished in the three hours of breakfast which is not great. I know this because we sat there chatting for the whole of breakfast one morning and no one came to put fresh food in the containers - bit grim.

Booked a month before, special treat for friends with medical considerations discussed at time. No booking on arrival. Their error. Drinks exorbitantly priced, even for 5*. Had to ask for decent fresh fruit at breakfast. Events marquee thinly disguised as hotel.

Got up at 3:30am climbed to top of hill to watch sunrise, then drove to Danesfield house for morning coffee to be served with great charm as if 7:00 am coffee on the terrace was quite normal. Sublime views.
