Very nice spiritual place. Difficult to describe in words. It demonstrates victory of nonviolence & message of peaceful coexistence of all on this planet.

Can't add photos, as mobile or camera prohibited in the complex. You will visit again and again at this sight.

Prince Siddarth sat beneath the "Peepal" tree facing the Shivlinga towards the East and attained enlightenment..the Shivlinga still exists in the middle of Mahabodhi sanctum Santorum

Each place has a different meaning. There is a sacredness for people to visit and do merit to increase the good and the happiness as a factor to get free from all suffering.

One of the best place I have visited in my life. A peaceful devine place packed with so much history.

Mahabodhi Temple is believed to be built 2300 Years back by King Asoka (upto the little wooden door)
The current structure is believed to be constructed in 7th Century and the Statute of Lord Buddha was placed inside the temple then by Burmese King.

The temple is spread in grand Campus of 11.5 Acres. Having all 7 place where Lord Buddha meditated and attained the enlightenment.

Make sure you reserve some to sit in front of the Mahabodhi Tree, it gives a different perspective altogether.

Currently (during the COVID-19 Spread) the Temple is open from 5AM to 1PM and 3PM - 7PM. You have to walk inside the temple to observe the beauty of it. It is advisable to hire a decent guide or else go through the history of the temple before visiting the sample to get the insights of the special spots in the premises.

Be informed that Mobile Phones (of any sorts) are not allowed inside the campus, however, if you are willing to capture photos inside, you can bring cameras for which you have to pay minimal charges.

Located in the premise of Mahabodhi Temple , the Bodhi Tree is the most devoted place for Buddhist people.
Mahabodhi tree is connected to the life of the historical Buddha, Siddhartha Gautama, who attained enlightenment or perfect insight when he was meditating under it. The temple was built directly to the east of the Bodhi tree, supposedly a direct descendant of the original Bodhi Tree.

According to Buddhist mythology, if no Bodhi tree grows at the site, the ground around the Bodhi tree is devoid of all plants for a distance of one royal kar sa. Through the ground around the Bodhi tree no being, not even an elephant, can travel.

Bodhi tree is not only a tree but it is very holy and spiritual tree under which Siddharth attained his enlightenment and from where he became Buddha.....

Bodhi tree is a good place to visit and meditate a while because Gautama Buddha did it successfully in the past here and hence now more and more people come to redo it.

Most peaceful place any one can experience in their life time. Also one can feel enlighten by siting under the shade of Maha Bodhi Tree. 2nd peaceful place is the main Maha Bodhi Temple, inside people feel real peace. One should must visit this place for a experience.

A devine peaceful place, must visit, in Bodhgaya, Gaya district. Here Lord Buddha got enlightenment under this very Peepal tree which is called Bodhi Vriksh.

This place is so nice and relaxing. You should visit here. Phone is not allowed inside the temple so you have to submit it at the counter.

I have been there every year in summer time with family when I was in india. ....its a place where I find my inner peace, filled with love and peace. Always loved to go. Thank you Bihar for protecting this place.
