Backstage Grill Review

The food was pretty good. The live music and atmosphere of the place was great. When there isn't a live performer they play clips from old Opry performances. I thought this was a nice touch to the mood of the place. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Expect to pay $12-16 for an average meal but the food was good.

Overpriced bad tasting food, Mac and cheese was gritty and over cooked. The meatloaf lacks any appeal... taste, presentation, texture or otherwise and is very dry. If you want to hear people sing go to a bar! If you want to eat southern comfort food go to a meat and three.

This is honestly the worst food I have ever eaten. My family went because it had great reviews but apparently these people ate completely different food than what we had. Everything we had was bland and had absolutely no flavor. The atmosphere was nice, and the staff is friendly, but the food is absolutely horrible.

Good food...music nice but alittle loud in dining area..recommend open up back room to still hear music but have conversations ovet your meal

Had the Brunswick stew and nachos, both good. Like music was a little loud.

Amazing food. Amazing atmosphere. Our server Rielly was great. Her and Kevin Holt sang a few songs and it was so inviting. Kevin is amazing and wonderful entertainer/singer: bartender. We had the steak $26.. worth every dollar. And the salmon $22. Perfection. This should have a 5 star rating. Definitely will be back when we are in town!!!!!!

Friendly staff with a great selection of food and beverages. Opry Backstage Grill is close to the Opry, but not walking distance. From fried chicken to brisket all of the food is great. Safe, friendly and clean, this is a great place. Reservations are taken if desired, but not required from what I saw.

Clean hotel restaurant with a Grand Ole Opry theme. Periodic live music make the restaurant relaxed and entertaining.

If you enjoy a spicy entree, the Shrimp and grits are out of this world. How can you go wrong with candied cayenne BBQ sauce with bacon?!

Sirves Is not the best, and the food let's say we will not be eating there again. My family and I stopped to eat something after a long road trip.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Opry Backstage Grill. Not only was the food delicious, our server James was fantastic. He made us feel welcomed, gave us great suggestions to try from the menu and then even got up on stage to sing with Vinny.
Don't leave without trying the pecan pie. It is by far the best I have ever had.
We definitely will be back.

Good food at a good price. Staff is friendly and prompt. I have been here a couple of times and it has been good each time. I personally had the brisket sandwich, it was good.

The place was empty when we stopped in for a drink and a snack at around 3:30 on a Tuesday, which wasn't surprising. The atmosphere was neat and the food was decent enough.

Music is great. Bartender sang with band! Get Alan Jackson's pimiento cheese, you won't be sorry.

This is a very unique experience many of the servers also sing! They ll take your order then hop up on stage, which you just won t find anywhere else. If you want truly excellent service, ask for Mary!

This place has the best fried bologna sandwich, you'll find anywhere, commercial, in town!

The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was good. But the reason you go to restaurants is for the food. And for that reason we won't be going back. Pulled pork was dry, wings looked very sad, would have been better with McDonald's up the street.

Nice meal, friendly staff, efficient service. Great location if you re visiting the Opry, and service was wonderfully fast!

I didn't think it was all that great. The food was just okay. I had the Farmhouse burger and fries. The burger was okay, but the fries tasted a bit stale. My husband had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. It was insanely salty. The sweet tea was sour, and even when they made more, it still wasn't good. The server walked right past us multiple times without stopping to check on us. We also had the unfortunate pleasure of going on a live music night. Now, I'm all for supporting local artists and live music. But when you have to practically yell your order to the server, it's entirely too loud. This is a restaurant, a small one at that, indoors, not the damn Bridgestone Arena. We won't be coming back.

We went on a Tuesday night for dinner. Got a table in a few minutes, food was great. Mac and cheese is wonderful. ..homemade. burgers were huge and the pulled pork and brisket was very good. The waiters and waitresses were the entertainment and they were good also. Just a little loud though, so don't sit right in front. We would go back again!

Good, mellow time.... Ribeye was cooked to perfection, received fresh corn bread and warm honey as a complimentary to the garlic mashed potatoes. The Bartender was Kevin and he chatted without intruding on my meal... All in all a good end to a long day of Sunday business travel.

The waitress was top notch on helping us order and kept up with our drinks and cornbread. Best tender brisket we ever put in our mouth. You could cut it with a fork.

Ribs were warm, not hot when brought to the table. Baked beans were hot and delicious. Salad came without pecans as described, dressings VERY unusual with liquid smoke added. Waitress very attentive however. Convenient to hotel, but wouldn't go back.

I ordered the catfish and it was fair at best. Small portion of fish that was soggy. Service was good and stopped this from being a 2 star rating. Waitress kept iced tea refilled and was professional. I was there for a work dinner and will not recommend. Restaurant was nicely furnished with good atmosphere. Food spoiled what could have been a 5 star experience.

Amazing food, atmosphere, very talented staff. The Shrimp and Grits- best I've had and I've had em from Louisiana, Charleston SC, Nc, Ga, Va and there's are by far the best. The grilled chicken with pimento cheese is amazing. Awesome place to eat at.

Everything we have tried was amazing! We ordered fried green tomatoes, smoke house brisket and loaded tots. Service was great. Everyone was nice. Can't wait to come back.

Had the catfish, took one bite, and knew it was bad. The older couple at the table next to us also had the same complaint. So, when the manager was finished talking with them we stopped him to make him aware of our complaint. As I still had fork in hand, because I was still eating my sides, the manager grabbed my plate and walked away with it. I was clearly still enjoying my side items. He never offered us anything, not expecting him to at all, until he overheard our group speaking with our server about the situation. Jess, our server, was fantastic. However, the manager on duty was very rude and should not be in management.

Our secret tradition place to have Thanksgiving lunch buffet when we're in Nashville over the holiday. We'll be back next year!

Place is empty and they asked a party of 4 to wait 5 minutes to sit us down. Total nonsense. Walked out. WHAT BUSINESS PEOPLE. ...ANS THIS WAS FROM THE MANAGER.

Good food, good service, good music, great place to visit if you are visiting Nashville

I have no idea how the Backstage Grill has a 4.3 rating. It's cafeteria food at best. Smallish, over priced portions and nothing felt like it was "fresh". The atmosphere was stale and the decor seemed like it was frozen in time 30 years ago. The excellent service is why it has any stars at all. Even if you're staying at the hotel this restaurant inhabits, you owe it to your palate to try a different place to eat.
