Spent the day with a visitors pass at Atlantis. Expectations were high from pictures we had seen and the price to enter. I was underwhelmed. The aquariums were very interesting, but the outside of the resort looked like it desperately needed renovation. The food was comically expensive. The pools that visitors could use were overcrowded. The other part of the resort reserved for hotel occupants may have been better kept but as for the section we toured, I wish I would have just stayed on the cruise ship. If you do decide to go, don't go there hungry.

There are a lot of things to do on the property with plenty of restaurants, for each day of the week. You could spend a full week enjoying all of the activities, your family, and the beautiful island of Bahamas, without even doing all of the activities offered there. Make sure to bring PLENTY of money though...

Very poor experience, from start to finish.

Very poor experience, from start to finish.

The water taxi we took dropped us off at least 20 minute walk away. Then we arrived at the ticket windows to fing long lines that didn't move - the picture shows the same people, in the same positions, from when we arrived over 40 minutes prior.

There were no prices posted - anywhere - so you couldn't even decide if you were interested in waiting to pay their price for admission.

The taxi service back to the cruise port was atrocious - they tried to pack nearly 14 people - including many elderly - into a minivan that should have held 7. The van was barely able to drive away - the tire was nearly popping as it was dangerously overloaded.

Pretty hotel and expansive casino that had nothing going on when we were there. We passed on the $60 per person dinner.

Hard pass - look for something else to do in Nassau, or better yet just stay onboard your cruise ship!

Beautiful facility and friendly staff. Food is mediocre at restaurants that aren't run by celebrity chefs, but still priced like a celebrity restaurant.

The ocean beaches are okay, but there are better beaches on Nassau.

The smoking inside the resort, particularly in and near the casino, is intense and offensive. We took great effort to walk around the casino.

This was the worst day I ever spent doing an excursion! Waste of my time but guess what?...not my money considering they do not take cash anywhere. Dont worry this is not made clear prior to coming. Their signs say take cash or credit but this is a lie. Purely cashless everywhere. They only take credit or debit card. So I was unable to get anything to eat or drink for 5 hours. It was awful completely ruined my mood and my day. The pigeons and seagulls where treated better...and the eating and sitting areas are covers with sea gulls/ pigeons because people are always feeding them. The water slides and water park was nice and fun. But I probably won't go back!!!

All gaudy flamboyant and showy with little soul. Everything seemed to be artificial flashy overpriced and overhyped. The buildings are nice and make good views from far. But from close it is like any other high profile hotel. It is a misfit with the otherwise pristine natural beauty of the Bahamas. Much ado about nothing. Glad that we did not waste too much time there.

Great place to vacation I took the carnival Cruise route but if like like trying new food and learning about different cultures you'll love this Atlantis is the nice clean tourist part I would suggest getting into where the people really live and doing a good local tour it with the money. Try the rum cake as well.

The pictures capture a sense of the majesty and unique Water Park attractions. My family and I enjoyed some of the water facilities. To be sure, some of the slides were a little rough, and being accosted by water may not be some people's idea of fun. That said, the slides through the Shark Tank are incredible. Lots of fun and cool conceptually. The Lazy River was not that much different than the Sesame Place ride. And I'm not a fan of Dark Water Slides that empty out into the abyss. I traveled with the family of boys ranging from 12 to 21 and overall they enjoyed. It is not a quiet, relaxing Escape, but if you have energy and kids to entertain, it is certainly well worth the visit.

About a 30 minute car ride from the airport, the resort itself is really nice. The rooms are spacious and there are plenty of pools and beaches to choose from. There is lots of fancy shopping and the casino feels like a Vegas casino albeit smaller. There is even a free aquarium where you can see all kinds of exotic fish. Having said all that, my entire family ordered the Rueben sandwich from one of their restaurants, Sip Sip and a few hours later, we were all extremely sick. We all ended up with Ciguatera fish poisoning which is caused by eating certain reef fish including Grouper. Aside from the gastrointestinal symptoms, there are neurological symptoms that can take months to go away. When we first contacted the Atlantis (and before we knew what we had), they were extremely unhelpful and wanted us to make our way to their doctor who was at least 15-20 minutes away in another tower (the Atlantis consists of multiple towers which are a good distance apart from each other). Given our state at the time, it was impossible to even leave our rooms. As such, we will never be going back to the Atlantis. Oh and don t eat reef fish including Grouper or Sea Bass... or at least look up Ciguatera before you do.

It is a beautiful place to go to. It is very family friendly with there being a lot of things for children to do like the water slides and all of the pools. There is also a lot of pools so everyone can get a seat. I will definitely be going back again. It feels like a cruise ship on land. Make sure to make reservations in advance because restaurants can get pretty crowded.

Comfortable beds and clean rooms. Fair amount to do. Water park has 7 or 8 slides and a fun "rapids" version of a lazy river. Aquariums are very cool. Beach seems nice enough but there aren't many little islands a ways out to cut the waves so it seemed like fairly rough water most days and sometimes closed for swimming. Plenty of decent restaurants and bars.

The casino is pretty good; ok rules on table games (3 to 2 blackjack with some hitting soft 17, only 3-4-5 odds on craps) and decent variety of games (3 card poker, Mississippi Stud, etc.), and a fair amount of slots. Video poker pay tables I saw were ok (9/5 on a Jack's or better game). Limits were just ok so be aware if you're a low roller. $15 craps, $15 blackjack (during the day), $1 video poker. They have daily free slot tournaments and occasional pay tournaments for table games like blackjack.

One thing to consider is that if you're not interested in the bar/casino/nightclub scene there's not a ton to do at night. A lot of the pools closed by 5, the spa was closed by 7 (earlier hours than their site said), etc. and there's not a whole lot of other evening options.

Everything is fairly pricey for what it is but that's to be expected both in the Bahamas and specifically at a giant resort like this. Even a one mile cab ride to town is around $15. Be prepared for the service to be a little different than you're used to as well. Everything happens a little slower and some (not all) of the service folks are noticably less "friendly" than you might see in the states or elsewhere.

My family went here for vacation for the second or third time now. We love it and it s so much fun for both adults and children. We loved it so much we invited our cousins to come with us last week. We went to go eat dinner at Olive in the Royal Tower on Paradise Island. We ordered a few appetizers and some entrees. As we were eating, we found two HUGE, dead cockroaches in our food, drenched in the same sauce as our food. Absolutely disgusted to think that we were eating food contaminated with dead roaches. So we called the manager over to tell him the issue, he didn t even apologize or anything, simply picked up the plate, went back to the kitchen, and came out half an hour later still no apology, to offer us 35% off... our appetizers only. We wouldn t even dare finish the rest of our food. If he had at least apologize, or offer at least 50% off, especially considering the amount we still had to pay for the dirty food we received!! For such a great resort, this was a real disappointment. Hopefully this doesn t reflect the true cleanliness and customer service of this place.

This resort has a lot to offer for a lot lot more price than its competitors. A lot of hidden charges which you don t find anywhere else. 15% gratuity mandatory which is fine but they don t declare st all. Resort fee of 25% which they don t declare at all. Casino is a trap, can t get comps whatever you do. Good fine dining ambience but not so good service. I would rate service as low grade. Employes are not rude but very indifferent, no greetings, no smile reason is because the gratuity is included and they don t have to be respectful and professional to earn it. Casino is th biggest put off. I would rate it The lowest rating where ever I have been so far. Go there for snob reasons, cheaper entertainment anywhere else s you go.

It is starting to show it's age. Rooms need maintenance. Sinks are all getting plugged up. If your a smoker you will love the halls near the Casino. Drinks in most restaurants are$18.00 each. Sorta like being on a Carnival Cruise for kids. The employees are great and they do try, but their hands are tied. Security is mediocre at best, trying to keep Cruiser's out of Hotels. Just no control.

Pros and Cons,

Pros and Cons,
The Cove is nothing short of spectacular! The Waterpark is as well.
Employees are a mixed bag, you have those that go out of their way to be sure you are taken care of and others that couldn't care less. Watch your check out Bill! They charged us for over 200.00 in mini bar fees and we never touched it, we opened it once to see if our bottles of water would fit and they wouldn't but we were still charged anyway, even the day we checked out at 930 a.m. had 70 $$ worth of charges. The bus service around Atlantis and Marina is awesome, no need for taxi's. The restaurants are ALL pricy (SERIOUSLY, due to the fact it is an Island and everything has to be shipped in) and they do this thing were they add 15% gratuity to each check, but the waiters will say it goes to the establishment and not to them so they expect or hope you give them over and above, plus there is a VAT tax on evertything of 12 % so with taxes and tips you could easily be paying 30 to 40 %. Service all over the island is s.l.o.w .. there is no time there, don't expect anything fast. if you can get past the cons, the pros beach, water, sand , vacation...and it is pretty nice.

Beautiful place overall. Very expensive! Honestly would not be able to do this on our own .... We were with a group trip and it was a great time.

The facility itself is breathtaking to see and experience. The waterpark is great for all ages. Food is expensive but they have many choices for all tastes and styles. Dolphin Cay is a great interactive Dolphin experience and for an additional fee you can sit on the beach in the Dolphin habitat . The casino is very nice adult entertainment and there are always shows or movies available as well(for kids and adults). If you have the means to do it, it's definitely a cool place.

At the end of the day the rooms aren't anything fancy and frankly we found a lot of the people to be very unfriendly, especially considering the ridiculous cost of things. I know there is a comfort suites right next door that is more affordable, offers free breakfast and most importantly, offers full access to the Atlantis property for your stay.

The Atlantis Hotel area is amazing in scale and in decor. Very classy with a large variety of shops, a theatre, an arcade, and many restaurants. We were only in the area for the aquarium tour, however the presentation for that was well done also. We did not stay in a room or experience all the Atlantis had to offer. High price point for a middle income class family.

The Beach resort was dated. The food was sub-par and dramatically over priced. Restaurant service was horrible and 15% gratuity is mandatory even for counter service meals. The water park and beaches are great. The resort staff was very helpful and friendly.

The hotel seems more like a 3 star hotel. It looks like they haven't updated it in years! It's very dirty and overrated! For all the hype I heard about this Atlantis, it didn't live upto it! Atlantis Dubai is a better option and you get to explore the city with it too! I would not recommend anyone to go here!

Atlantis is absolutely magnificent! The grounds are well kept, and the water park onsite is nothing short of amazing. The rooms are a bit dated and could use some improvement. However, it was clean and the beds were comfortable. Nonetheless, I would definitely recommend staying here if you're going to the Bahamas.

No other combination of aquarium beach access and water park that I can think of within relatively easy access from the states, this place is simply amazing! With a little planning, meals and other expenses can be managed. We were able to eat some meals in the restaurants and yet keep the adventure affordable since we brought some of our own food with us.

Large resort. Probably the best option for a day trip if you are cruising to Nassau. We toured the aquarium and sat in the sand at the lagoon. Drinks are strong and the conch balls were awesome.
