Food is ok with fair price. However, it is not kids friendly place. We are group of 10 people with two prams. We have been told to move the prams with babies inside a couple of times in a hour by different unhappy staffs. A staff told us one pram per table only.

Haven't been here in years. 4th or 5th time here and the menu seems to change quite often. Was here last week on a Friday, looked a bit busy. They said 2 chefs called in sick so food would take 30mins or so. Ordered the salmon and that was cooked really well. The side salad looked interesting but the dressing that was with it just didnt go. No flavour. Also ordered prawn and chorizo pasta looked really good but no flavour for some reason. Also order sweet potatoe chips which was good. We came here on a weekend for coffee and cake. That was all good. Should definitely tried the sticky date pudding with ice cream. Super sweet but goes well with a coffee. Great view and atmosphere but would really order meals here.

Good food but expensive. Flies were irritating me on my seat and were roaming on my food. Chosen the corner seat in front inside the restaurant at river side. Ordered hot chocolate and cappuccino along with egg on the way toast and veggie burger . Hot chocolate should be served in handled cup as it was very hot and very inconvenient to drink with hot glass.

Would have rated it 3.5 stars if I could, mainly because of the slow service. We placed orders at 10.15 and food arrived at 11.55.
Located in a middle of the park, the water view is beautiful and surrounding by lots of greens.
Chai latte was on the sweet side, I ve diluted it with half a cup of hot water.
Avocado smash vegan option is beautiful, love the plating and favours combination. Tasted very healthy and satisfying.

Other than the water front view with mosquitos, the cafe served really horrible food. If you are planning to go their for food please do not even consider this as your option. The place was overly crowded and hardly felt relaxing . Not enough parking and too many bugs .

Fantastic location, nice breakfast and lunch menus and friendly service. Have been a few times and will definitely come back. A star deducted as guests must go and collect their own table water from inside.

I would give it zero star if possible. The worst and rudest service I have ever seen in my entire life. I just regret spending time and money in this place. I went there with my husband looking for a peaceful and relaxing breakfast in this beautifully located coffeeshop , instead we had a stressful and humiliating 30 minutes after which we left without even eating our meals.

Avoid it

Food and service was excellent. Very disappointed when we asked staff to take pic of us with our friends visiting from Melbourne. When reviewing pic just now manager is in pic giving us the finger. Rude and upset. Not happy.

Food is alright. But it s the service that always ruins my experience. Every time I have been to this cafe with my family I have found staff to be very less accommodating and very much lack quality service. But today they looked extra angry. Barging here and there, and using stern tones. Pulling away chairs while we are dining and not even saying courteous excuse me .

Only alright thing about the cafe is the coffee is good. But they should hire better people at the cafe and less angry staff.

Nice place to spend a time and grab a coffee/bite.
Usually its busy, if you are going with bigger group, better to book a table.

I gave this place a bad review because. ..
On arrival we had to wait to be acknowledged, then asked ' if we were being dealt with' ...niiice! We had no choice but to sit inside, as it was full outside with a sports group, which was no problem, they all left, so we asked if we could move to an outside table, only to be told 'there's none available, they're all trashed. We said we don't mind waiting, she walked off ..all pretty much without eye contact and not a smile to be seen! By this time, still no 'hello', or, 'we won't be long' no acknowledgement whatsoever by any off the several staff flitting about with no clue! We sat for a couple more minutes then decided to leave....never to return! Worst service I've experienced in a long long long time!

worst experience ever! it was very early in the morning when went for coffee. there were just two other tables that were occupied in the outdoor seating area and we were escorted to a table right next to the other diners when all the other tables were vacant and when we chose to sit at a table of our own choosing the waitress was unhappy, sighing as she placed the menus on our table. The kids had purchased pies from another cafe nearby and when they attempted to eat them, we were told that we could not eat food that they did not serve at their cafe, citing 'false advertising', and would not place our drink orders on the table until we removed our pies from our table. the waitress was loud when pointing out our fault, loudly conferring with another waitress humiliating us in front of other diners. it was a very demeaning experience. will never return.

I don't normally post reviews but we found multiple bones in the fish which was served in the fish and chips including in the kids meal for my 2 year old. Absolutely revolting, we could not finish our meal and will not be returning.

Having ridden past this small cafe on the river for many years I thought it would be worth stopping to try it out seeing as it is always quite busy on the weekend. I was riding past with a friend this morning and noticed it was empty so we stopped in. Big mistake. The girl at the front of the cafe was pretty useless with service and was more worried about discussing her wedding with some customers she knew than helping us order or even bringing some water. We both ordered eventually and the food the came out was the saddest looking thing I ve ever seen. Poached eggs were cooked all the way through. Total waste of time and money and will not be back.

Beautiful and relaxed cafe by the water. Food menu has a lot of options for vegans and vegetarians. Plenty of parking spots but they can be filled very quickly due to amazing park facilities such as slides for kids, bike, walking jogging path, btw facilities and public toilets. The view was very serene but forgot to take pics!.oh btw the coffee was amazing! Takeaway options also available.

The breakfast menu is FANTASTIC! This is a place that really knows how to mix flavours and always gives the right amount of sauces, toppings, etc, so that the food has never been dry. We really loved the Sweet Potato Rosti.

If you have kids, there is also a kids menu, which they can colour in and on with pencils provided, and there's plenty of space for them in the outside area.

On top of that, the coffee was good as normal, and the staff were friendly.

Grrat location and good food but very poor staff. The benedict w/salmon and crepes were delicious. Cappuccino was nice too, although served a bit too cold. Serving staff was appaling. Poor menu knowledge and very little manners, let alone customer service. "We don t serve waffles" said one of the waitresses when bringing some dishes out. No apology when she went back to check and did bring the kids waffles out. Inability to take an order too. Request for no berries and ice cream for a kid's crepe was plainly ignored and no offer to rectify when pointed out. We also needed a sheet of paper for kids to do some drawings and would not hand out a sheet from the ream on top of the printer despite having ran out in the kid's trolley. The other two families on the same booking had a similar experience with their requests and staff interactions.

This is a fantastic place for weekend brunch.
We come here regularly with friends who have young families. There's a vast playground for the little ones, and should you find yourself in possession of an errant child there's a great prison with which to threaten them.

Friends and I were out riding today and popped in here for lunch. They were pretty busy, but we were seen to immediately by the staff, who were friendly and attentive throughout.

I had low expectations about the place, as many places at which I've dined which are located somewhere special are generally pretty lazy with the quality of food and service. However, the food and service here was surprisingly good.

I ordered the crispy fried school prawns with aioli, and they didn't disappoint, although the aioli could have had a bigger kick of garlic. For mains, I ordered the barramundi fillet on leek in broth with lardons. The fish was perfectly cooked (with crunchy skin), and the broth was flavorful and had a nice, round mouth feel...had body.

Having spied bread and butter pudding in the cold cabinet, I had to order one! It was your typical bnb pud, but was served with a rosette of whipped cream, but I think a sauce boat of creme anglaise would've complimented it better.

My friends and I will certainly be including the Armory in our next ride through the area.

A little gem in Newington, Sydney. Catch a ferry there to add to the experience. The ferry wharf is only about 1.5km walk to the cafe. Nice area to have a walk (and even a picnic) or visit one of the art displays that are usually on. The cafe itself has a lovely covered outdoor area, but we usually try to snag an indoor table. One of my step daughters is vegan and she always manages to find something on the menu to suit her. Portions are quite generous and we've always had good food there. The coffee is not that great though, if, like me, you prefer a strong and robust coffee. There is also a beer and wine list which is fairly reasonably priced. We always visit when we're in the area.

(Staff should wear masks if they d like to to protect themselves better). They are doing a good job on being COVID safe. Thank you! We ll definitely come back in the future :)

Horrible service. Disrespectfull staff. I would give 0 star If I could. There was a sign at the entrance saying Please wait to be seated. We waited 15 minutes amd even waved the staff asking for assistance they didn't even look at us. Normally we wouldn't get in but we were very hungry and had to eat something asap. So we sat somewhere and kept waiting someone to look after us but when someone finally approached before even asking our order she TOLD us to sit somewhere else cuz that table was for 6 people. Horrible horrible plece I wouldnt recommend to any living thing..

Meh. This place is meh. Luckily it's in a prime location and the only one there. Adding a 10% surcharge on Sundays & public holidays (5% on Saturdays) is extortion.

I ordered poached eggs on toast. They came out SO underdone the "white" was still oozing clear. The baked eggs were okay.

Definitely room for improvement on the coffee however the food was of a good serving size, with the hash browns being specifically enjoyable. The atmosphere was relaxing
and we found the service to be quite respectable in a holiday period. Would go there again and would recommend.

Expensive overpriced food and not good quality. Paid 27$ for a slice of bread with 1 egg on it. Service is not great either. The location is good and they should start reading those reviews and start improving their menu and customer service

Visited this cafe today. First of all the staff were horribly presented, unfriendly and impolite. The female attendant staff approached us in an unfriendly manner which made us feel uncomfortable. Despite this , we ordered 4 dishes and 2 coffees in the hope that the food will be better than the service . Unfortunately it just got worse. Our 2 coffees came 30 minutes after we ordered and when we asked the waiter if it will be any longer she rudely said as she continued to walk away that it's still getting made.
Each dish came 10 minutes apart and then we were greeted with a hair in the middle of the French toast and the waiter abruptly claimed that she will go and 'investigate' the hair.
The dish was returned immediately which proved that the same dish was returned with the hair removed as it was clear that it took 30 minutes to cook every other 'fresh' dish. Each of the 4 dishes were stale and banana bread was as hard as a rock.
Would not recommend anyone to visit this place !!!!!! 0/10

In reality it's a 2.5 but they don't allow that so..
In fairness there's nothing particularly wrong at this Cafe. The surroundings are wonderful especially on a nice day. There's plenty of parking nearby and aside from the kiosk there no other competition to stop it being better.
The food is passable but at the price point they're charging I'd say it's pretty average.
Coffee was okay but definitely seemed watery maybe it was the way the milk was done.
Service was fine but there just seemed a feeling of reluctance about it. Perhaps they're very busy but I'd say they might just need to manage themselves better.
Overall nothing wrong with my experience there but there was also nothing to bring me back especially at the prices charged. I'd more likely byo picnic stuff and use the BBQ immediately adjacent to the restaurant.
To the restaurant. Given your monopoly on that area and its location next to the water it would be amazing if you stepped up and did something that people would flock to.

Had lunch with my family yesterday, was not happy with salt & pepper squid, way too salty not cooked very well. I returned asked for another one, they added sugar to the second one we got. I told them that it had sugar on the squid. Should have asked for my money back, over priced. Very sneaky and stupid thing to do. Not impressed, will not go back

First off, great location. Perfect place for a family day out, nearby there bike trails, fountains, a great kids park and of course the water views. The food though is so so. My sweet potato fritter was quite dry and not the more tasty thing I've eaten. However, the place was very friendly and accommodating as we had to wait over an hour for some of our friends to arrive. On that note, parking on a Sunday morning maybe quite a nightmare. Arrive early or with ample time to park. Or even better take the ferry and take advantage of your opal card or ride a bike there and burn some calories in the process ;)

Don't go to this cafe! 2 kids and 1 adult came in for some muffins and cake at 4pm. Got told by a big fat waitress that kitchen is closed in 2 minutes and only can do take away for the sweet. There were 2 tables are ordering their food through the menu with other waitresses. We said yes and waited in line to pay for a muffin to go. In the mean time, there are a group of 6 people walking in, seated and given out the menus. We have to seat on the wooden bench out of the cafe so the kids can have the muffin. What kind of service it this?
