I have never been to this restaurant but can tell you how happy I met the owner. I had a flat tire and asked for his help as the bults where too tight to turn. He said without hesitation that he would help me. He went out of his way to drive to a garage to get this pipe because it was impossible to change the tire without it. He also told me a little story about how he came to Canada from Greece, he should be very proud of the man he has become in his ventures and voyage and his spirit to help others. If his restaurant is anything like his personality and history I bet it is amazing.
Thank you Thomas for your help today. It was greatly appreciated!
They have been in that location for a long time. The food is good but the restaurant is very old and smell mold.
My husband and I with our baby boy went there on Saturday evening without having a reservation; well aware that it can be difficult to get a table. We politely asked the server a table for two, please! and as soon as he approached his manager to confirm her body language and attitude towards us made clear that we were not welcomed. The lady manager said I only have one table and I WANT IT BACK BY 7:45! It is completely acceptable to walk over to your guests and apologise for not being able to accomodate their requests. It is NOT acceptable to be rude and make clear they are unwanted. For god s sake, we were guests, not the other way round!!!
Despite that we kept the positive attitude and decided to give this place a try banking on some good reviews I read! I wish we had turned back and went somewhere else.
That ONLY one table was in front of a hot running fire place in the middle of the room! Is it even safe to put a table so close to an open fire place and offer it to a family with a very young child?! We asked our waitress to turn it off as we were melting there. I have to mention there were many other free tables that no one were sitting during our stay and they were still empty when we left.
We ordered a Mezze platter (apparently $33, turned up to be $66 for 2, evidently a small foot note in the menu). It s not even a fancy restaurant and prices are unreasonably high! There was basically nothing worthy to try as Greek food just a small skewer of meat with a big pile of store-made calamari and few more high carb stuff with big chunks of cucumber and tomato Greek style salad.
We ended up with a bill over $100 for an appetizer platter and two drinks not even a main course! We left 20% tip for the nice polite folks waiting the tables professionally and the one star is for the lovely waitress that was nice and professional despite her manager.
Great staff. The menu? Stunning. I love the eople and the food there so far. I recommend this place 100 percent!
Food was great tasting. Service was iffy. We had to wait a while everytime we needed something from our server. Overall good stuff.
Came here around 11:30 for a Mother s Day lunch and the experience was overall horrible. First, their oven somehow was broken so many baked dishes such as moussaka and spanakopita were unavailable (this removes my two favourite dishes as a vegetarian). The server did not provide an apology. During our meal, no servers came by to refill our water or check on us. Even when we asked for the bill, It took over 10minutes for them to come back with the machine so we could pay and leave. The food that we ordered (lamb, calamari, veggie souvlaki, prawn souvlaki) was good but awful service all around. Good service can make up for bad food, but unfortunately good food can never make up for bad service. Will not be back! This experience was so disappointing.
It was okay wondering arrived it was almost like we weren't there that's how I felt we were treated also some of the food wasn't very garlicky like the hummus yeah so I wasn't very pleased with the food the lamb that my daughter had didn't taste as good as she thought it would and it was kind of dry and certain areas
Last minute reservation for 10 adults, 2 children and two infants and they were able to fit us in!! Food was great, service was impeccable. Time from order to delivering to our table was 20 minutes with the appetizers delivered in 5 minutes after ordering.
My daughter had the limb and I must confess that it was the best lamb I have ever had, tender and tasteful!
Good service. It is tasty and authentic Greek Food. My dinner was cold in the centre.
Little crowded. But amazing taste, nice atmosphere and very good location. Definitely recommended.
I been visiting this place for many years . I order country lamb. And I got 50% fatty.
Not good this time.
Ambiance is warm with superb food(big serving) and service is awesome.
Great service. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and the food came so quickly!
The food and atmosphere can not be beat! You have to try the saganaki, moussaka and country lamb, so delicious. Can't wait to see what they do with the rear patio. If you're lucky the belly dancers will be there to blow fire and entertain while you enjoy everything this place has to offer.
Great food, good atmosphere, and very friendly staff.
Excellent food, great service, amazing views. Will definitely come again.
Food portions are very small for take out.. 25$ meal looks like this.
We had a lovely night at Anatoli Souvlaki. While the food is superb, it was the service that made our night! We met the new general manager and he along with Speery, our waiter, and the busgirl we re all attentive, knowledgeable, and very fun to talk with. However, it was extremely loud and uncomfortably warm.
If I had to choose between watching my first born child take his/her first steps or eating a meal at Anatoli, I'd choose Anatolis without hesitation. Forget the 7 wonders of the world, add this one as the 8th. I can't fathom how 1 $4 highball can get a full grown man tanked. Not only that, but they gave us free humous. I'm in love and her name is Anatoli.
Good food. A tad expensive relative to what you get. Decent service. Parking is abysmal
Visited on Christmas Eve. Good tasting food but relatively expensive for the environment and food. The waiter wasn t very friendly either and the food took forever to come.
Decent food and portion sizes. Ordered Moussaka and it was a little cool you can tell it's batch made and reheated
Never had Greek elsewhere since we tried Anatoli Souvlaki.
Friendly staff, good food and great wine deals on Monday (40% house bottles).
Pricey!
I really like lamb shank! Very tender, Very different taste than the other Greek restaurants. My wife really liked the taste.
Service was nice enough, and the food was good; but prices are steep for what you get.
First time trying Anatoli Souvlaki! It was absolutely delicious!
We happened to be there during Happy Hour so we tried a few appetizers (highly recommend the Baked Feta & Tomatoes with Pita).
We also tried the souvlaki dinner (our sever recommended trying one chicken/one pork skewer).... it was amazing.
These lemon potatoes were the best lemon potatoes we ve ever had. They were very flavourful and the texture was perfect. Super crisp on the outside and moist on the inside.
We will definitely be back!
All the staff working were extremely friendly. The server we had was very helpful and had great suggestions on the menu.
5/5 stars for sure!
.... still thinking about those lemon potatoes!
Lovely staff and superb food. Get the country lamb if you're hungry and love meaty lamb off the bone.
Love Anatolis ...great place for lunch or dinner. Staff are amazing!!
Good services...Leanne was awesome...Stella Artois the best!!!
Went here for dinner during the summer, they have lots of patio seating with views of the bay and downtown Vancouver. Patio seating was full, but they let us sit by the window which was nice since there is no ac being it is Vancouver. Our server was very helpful and friendly, and was spot on refilling our water. Food was very good as well and the portion size was adequate although don't plan on having leftovers. If you are wanting Greek food this is the ppace to go!
Really good, and reasonably priced. Best Greek food that I've had in Vancouver, although I've not tried a ton of places.
Best server, Dorthey......had a blast.....try the meatballs.....i mean the dish.....lol
Consistently great food and lovely service. Nice atmosphere in a clean pretty restaurant.
really good food , nice place and ambience, expensive but if any culture that promotes "customer is wrong " I don't think it's worth it. There was a legit tiny piece of plastic in my food but waitress went to the kitchen to bring an onion peel to show its that, even though I could tell it wasn't that soft like a peel . It was a plastic I analyzed it couple times cus am uncomfortable complaining in general.
Super great family owned place. Been around for ever. Best greek food on the north shore hands down
Food quality is poor. We ordered the roast lamb shoulder and the kalamari dinner. Lamb was okay but not worth the price. Kalamari was totally flavourless. We have tried several Greek restaurants around Vancouver and this was the worst kalamari we've eaten. The service was good though. I would not recommend this place.
Very good neighborhood Greek place for a casual or family get together. Can't comment on the authenticity but the portions are big and flavorful.
Tip: the larger lamb dish (farmer) is a better value for two people in both size and quality than the individual lamb medallions.
The whole menu is fantastic, but in the few times I ve gone back I ve realized their bigger lamb dish, which is more expensive, is actually a better value as it can feed two with leftovers, AND is better prepared.
I've found it hard to find good Greek food in this city. This restaurant is sooo good. Service was excellent. Can't wait to go back.
service was good. the food was a bit disappointing.
Great service , great prices and most of great food !!
Such an authentic atmosphere and delicious food. They also have a more modern location in Yaletown called The Greek.
Dining here is always a very pleasant experience. The ambiance is warm and welcoming. Wait staff are friendly and helpful. The food is truly exceptional. I would strongly recommend one of the lamb dishes. Prices are reasonable, given food quality and portion size. This is one of the best Greek restaurants in town. Come hungry, leave satisfied!
Food & service good. Unfortunately, extremely noisy compounded by an intrusive & unentertaining belly dancing show.
Remember Orestes from the 80's? Well, you will be feelin' it still at Anatoli. Kitschy decor, quasi balcony and all your Greek favourites. Cosy, comfy place with a great nostalgic vibe. Good value, good food, good service and on weekend nights, the party is on!
Looking for delicious Greek food? Look no further! This place is seriously amazing - my daughter had the lamb and I think that was our favourite - we also had the pork and shrimp, which were equally delicious - but the lamb was superb! Desserts were yummy - but this place really shines not only because of the food, but the ambiance is beautiful. One of the most beautiful restaurants in North Van.
The servers were really nice and the food was amazing!
We love going to this local restaurant with our friends and family. The service is always excellent and the food never disappoints. We usually order a couple of platters to share family style so we get to try a bit of everything. Can't go wrong with the souvlaki with endless pita! Can't wait to go back
This place is really nice and cozy with good staff.
Farley she was so kind and helpful for choosing our dinner. Dinner was delicious.
We had a recent staff dinner here and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. From the very first response to my initial email, Eddy was patient, professional and understood our group s needs. He was open to all of the requests that I had and made thoughtful, accommodating suggestions.
The night of the event, we were greeted by the friendly and welcoming staff and sat at a spacious table. Our server could not have been more attentive; she checked in with me several times about the flow of our meal and gave lots of options and choices. The service was above and beyond what I would have expected for almost any group dining situation, let alone on what turned out to be a very busy night.
Thank you for such a positive experience - we will definitely be back!
Delicious food, great location . A little pricey , sadly they don t have beef souvlaki .
We went for happy hour on a Saturday and it was yummy. The pricing was really good. The calamari was tender but wished they fried it a minute longer. We got a pork souvlaki and it was full of flavour. The service was good. They have inside and outdoor seating.
My husband and me were in Anatoli restaurant in North Vancouver for the first time on Thu. Sep.08, 2016 and we want to say thank you to Aleia for her great and professional service. It was a joy to see her smiling face as she brought us the meal and appreciate her for the wonderful recommendations.
We enjoyed the Greek atmosphere, drink, meal and desert. Everything was great.
Good food. Service was decent. Ambiance was good. Would definitely go back.
Food is over rated, prices are too high. I received 1 olive in the Greek salad.. lamb solvaki was fatty, rice plain, calamari tasted like something you would buy in the frozen section at Costco.. will not be returning
Loved our visit. I normally get worried that a place will get spoiled by such an easy influx of customers and walk-by traffic, but they have stayed friendly and kept up the quality. They also serve Fat Tug! Our server also comp d a shot of ouzo. Great calamari. We will be back.
I've been to this place a few times in the past and always had a good time. Last time was way below par. In particular, disappointed with their wine list. They used to sell the seven deadly zins for $50.00 (25 bucks at the liquor store). Its now off the menu.. Ordered a Malbec that I didn't recognize for $60.00. It was awful, and later realized that its sold at the liquor store for $12.50... I understand making money, but have a little more integrity in your products and pricing...
We are from Seattle and was looking for a nice quality restaurant. Great food (Country Lamb) was excellant. Good atmosphere, recommend the fried mountain goat cheeze..
Amazing food
Had the spankopita pie entree, suuuuper delicious
Best Greek salad ever.
Lemon potatoes- to die for!
My Partner had steak & tiger prawn souvalki skewers- both delicious!
Service was great! As I walked out, our server, another server, a host, a manager (or owner), and a cook/chef all said good bye and thank you- was a first for sure!!
100% will be back!!!!!!!!!
10/10.
We run our Christmas parties out of Anatoli's. I don't know how they do it, but their food gets better every year, and the service, with staff who are there year in and year out, is impeccable. We rent out one of their dining areas that comfortably fits 46. I couldn't be happier with them. And I won't even get into how good the lamb is..... Thanks Georgia and Eddie
Calamari was bland, service was sub par polenta was good rabbit had tasty sauce
Pro: Nice authentic Greek cuisine with friendly staff.
Con: I was dissapointed in the pita that came with my meal. Ive eaten a lot of pitas and this one was notably dry and difficult to chew. Reminded me of the boring, stale supermarket ones. For how easy it is to make fresh pita I don't understand why they would serve stale old ones.
Last night was our third time here since we moved toVancouver last year. It was an excellent meal as usual. The staff and chef are funny, responsive, and cheerful, the food is excellent, and the atmosphere warm and inviting. What could be better better than this place. I love to be here again.
My best friend and I have been going here for lunch for several months now as we work nearby. The servers and cooks alike make us always feel very welcome. We went here looking for a place to enjoy a quiet lunch that was affordable. We usually have the soup of the day or we share one entree between us and split the bill. All the staff is exceptional; however, we must give a special shout out to Nevada who goes above and beyond every time we visit. A few weeks ago when I had a cold she was thoughtful enough to give me the option of having hot water, lemon and honey. We feel cared for every visit. This kind of service is hard to find. Please try for lunch or appy hour after work. Enjoy!
Just had the happy hour Lamb Shoulder with greek rice, potatoes and greek salad. It was the best we've tasted! By far the best Greek Food in town.
Food was bland but the ambiance was nice... old school Greek restaurant
There was a lady brushing her hair and waiter didnt stop her! Pita was rock hard!
Awesome food. Try the cocktail with shrimp in it. Also, they have a belly dancer at some times of the evening.
Ate at both the North Van & Gas town locations during a recent trip. The lamb shoulder is truly fall off the bone at both places. Atmosphere in gas town is a 10/10
A great place to hang out on a sunny day and have a beverage on the patio.
We've been here twice since we've arrived in Vancouver (we're staying around the corner in the Pinnacle Hotel) and we have been very impressed each time. For our first experience we ate there at lunch and had the smoked salmon souvlaki - delicious. Then at diiner we tried a bunch of apps (grape leaves, triple dip, spanakopita, saganaki) and everything was awesome! For desert we sampled the baklava, and some other pastry the name of which escapes my mind but it was great. The servers here care about treating you right, which I can't is the same attitude I've gotten in certain other restaurants here in North Vancouver. Dine here - you will not be disappointd.
My friend suggested this place. I love it and really enjoy the food and everything. We ordered a platter to share. It was a huge meal for two ladies and still had left over to take home. Food was great flavor and fresh, cooked to perfect! Service was great, will go back soon for sure.
Food was good. But the service did not work out so well. Too bad.
