Allou Gialou Restaurant, Syros Review

Nice place but up there, the heights and portions are quite small. You can also say gourmet ok. One just has to inform them about the laws on rugs, and charges for water, bread, etc. Obviously we will not be hungry for the 4.5 euros, just those next time may not be so lucky and cost them a thousand.

Nice neo gourmet Greek food the experience was ruined by loud and indiscreet local families with kids that thought this as a playground and the indifference of the staff to ask them to keep their children silent , for the sake of other customers.. there were at least 20 tables full that wanted a pleseant and peaceful evening. A restaurant is not only about the food , but the total experience especially when it is so expensive and wants to be called one of the best in Cyclades islands

The variety of salads does not let you monotonize, with the first and best of the same name, "Allou Gyalou", with fresh, chopped arugula, crispy rusks, tomato, spring onion and local sour cheese. However, the salad with Alonissos tuna and the bullets with anchovy sauce are also very good. As an appetizer, be sure to try the hummus with fluffy pita, the parsley salad, the tarama mousse with basil eggs and the potatoes with Syrian fennel sausage

Some may cost around 25 to 30 euros to compensate you for 1st place and 2nd most wonderful flavors.
And third, with a good amount of whatever you get.

Lunch mainly for children. Spaghetti-kyma-cheese, Syros sausage-french fries. Delicious spaghetti, EXCELLENT sausage. We, bottled tsipouro and herring salad. Excellent bread of 2 types, standard olive oil, lightly flavored. At the end watermelon. The whole, 32 . Care, courtesy, nice environment, "in" the sea !!

Lovely seaside restaurant, mediocre food and rather expensive compared to competing restaurants. Also noteworthy is courteous waiters and excellent olives as an appetizer.

Seafood risotto poisoning

The service was very good.
The view is very beautiful on the wave.
Prices were overrated.
However, the worst thing happened when I came home and felt intense stomach aches! Note that I had not eaten more than standard cereal bars and what I came up with was clearly the risotto we ate. I regret that I make negative criticism but felt necessary since many families visiting the restaurant and the experience is really very bad

Horrible service. We made a reservation but they couldn't find it. Even though the place was not full it was like they forgot that we existed. The food took for ever and the intervals when they brought the plates were really long. The food was extremely heavy however the octopus and the pasta with salmon were really good.

Some of the best food in the island! It was a group of 4 where we shared the dishes and we found all the dishes that we ordered to be very tasty. We all got seafood and greens.

Beautiful and stylish restaurant with an island character right on the beach. Its flavors are nice with a good variety on the list. The prices are somewhat pricked as you would expect from a restaurant of this level. But you also find normal choices. The burgers of the wonderful and the large portions! The service is a joyful and dull dessert for the end. Difficult to sit down at the table you want without reservation ... at least in a peak season. One of the must-dos of the visit to Syros!

By far the best beach of Syros, with extremely clean and relatively shallow waters, organized beach, dominates the unlikely beach bar Ono. The best choice for a bathroom.

Expensive shop not very large portions but very good quality food.

Restaurant name and thing!
The restaurant is located in the heart of the picturesque Kini with the beautiful sunset literally by the sea! Its prices may seem a bit stingy for an average family but really the quantities of the dishes as well as their flavors are "Other Glass" and are worth the last euro. All seafood and fish are very fresh, recommended spaghetti dishes with cuttlefish ink and tuna, grilled sardines! The owners as well as the staff enslave you with their behavior!

Very average, totally over-rated. The view is beautiful and the terrasse is nice but this is a restaurant so for the price we expected much better food. The fried squid was over cooked and cut in very large slices. The fried anchovies were dire. We did not have a chance to look at deserts because they brought chocolate ice cream on the house which would have been nice if the ice had been good but it was really cheap ice cream covered with industrial chocolate sauce which tasted worst than a McDonald s sundae.
There are other restaurants either next door or a bit further along the beach which look much better even if they are more simple.

If you are in Syros then you should go to Allou Yialou. One of the best restaurants that I ever tried. The best ever Greek cuisine!

Allou Gialou is by far the best restaurant in Syros but also one of the best I have ever visited. Excellent taste, clever and special dishes, fantastic spot, kind and friendly staff Excellent job guys. Prices are above the average but in my opinion they deserve every single cent ..

Finally, I had an addition to 58,10 , I give 60 , I have never made change. Ok I was going to leave a tip, the chef did not give me the choice ...

The name really characterizes the store, it came from another universe. Tragically very expensive (12 euros per salad), while at the same time they do not offer the classic options such as rustic or dakos. Big foul also that you do not have directories, but only qr code. Also, our waiters often ignored us.

The place is nice the restaurant nice good service from friendly staff. Portions good to large deliciously cooked food. Prices relatively proportional to the portions.

One of the best restaurants I have ever eaten! Apart from the advantage of being located on the beach with one of the most beautiful sunsets, the shop is impeccable. The service is for a seminar basically. The dishes we got very well. The pepper jam ... pleasure. I expected it to be much more expensive but the truth is that it has dishes for all budgets. From chicken with rocket sauce (brain) 10 to lobster, sea urchin etc which are reasonably more expensive. I wish one day I could pick it up in my pocket and try the most expensive dishes. One of the 3 best restaurants I have ever eaten. Like icing on the cake, I learned that they also have ONO in Agathopes. Perfect in every way and that!

A beautiful restaurant, in a beautiful spot, in a beautiful island.
It has all what one is expecting for an original Greek experience.
Right by the sea side, one can enjoy a Mediterranean / Greek cuisine, traditional and yet, at the same time, original (where else can you enjoy an urchins salad?)
It is a joy to the taste buds but also to the eyes: To have dinner there and watch the sun go down, in the company of the well fed local kitties, who also frequent the place.

Have been coming here multiple times a year since it opened 10-15 years ago. The staff are wonderful and welcoming even in these odd times that we live in. The menu is the same each year and the quality of the food is excellent. The move away from taverna food in Greece is, in my opinion, very welcome, and Allou does this very well indeed. The flavours have international influences, but the dishes remain very Greek. Will continue going as long as I visit Syros (this year was my 43rd year there)

The prices are a bit high but I think you know it when you choose to sit in this store. But the food justifies you 100%. Whatever you eat will be unforgettable! The view is incredible since the restaurant is on the sea!

The best restaurant in kini, but we are in the gastro not in the traditional tavern, we tasted the fried zucchini sticks (very good and original), the grilled octopus (excellent) and a grilled sea bream chosen on the stall, the fish was a marvel served with steamed vegetables, and cut into the room (rare)
The fish is charged 68 / kg, which obviously plummets the bill, however the prices are correct for the other dishes, it is a restaurant to have fun and we had a great dinner, especially as the setting is beautiful.
