My doctor ordered me to have an echocardiogram at this facility and I had the distinct pleasure of getting Dr. Ausra as my Cardiologist. She was so nice to talk to and very professional. She made my day and for that I award 5 stars! The hospital was also easy to navigate due to proper signage, also nice and neat.

I wanted to get treatment for alcohol and they told me that I had to get admitted through the emergency room, so I went. As soon as I got to the hospital I told them what I was there for and they were all on board. They even had security come down to take my belongings before they took my blood and gave me a multivitamin. After a hour of waiting to get admitted to the program, a doctor, who I never had a conversation with before appeared and said that I could go home even though she did not like my blood/alcohol level. In the end, they sent me home with prescriptions, and a stack of papers to ready through to find a treatment center, oh and of course they charged my insurance company $3000.... Oh and the Patient Relations person, Jenny Laird was very rude...TOTAL WAIST OF TIME AND MONEY!!!!!!
I really don't like hospitals, they are some of the most expensive lodging places that you can stay overnight, with way below average accommodations and amenities. The ER staff is hit or miss, sometimes they are very helpful and friendly and not so much at other times. But as far as hospitals go!! They are above average in service and quality of the service. I really don't think I'll ever find a hospital that I really love. They all talk a good game only if you have very good insurance, otherwise they ignore you.
I have been coming here for years and am usually satisfied with my care. However I went to the er with excruciating pain in my shoulder and arm. I was literally crying. The Dreason asked me a few qustionseconds pushed looked at my arm with a few pushes and discharged me with some prescriptions. I'm leaving in the same pain I showed up with. Did nothing to help me. So now my insurance and I will be paying over $1000 for me not to have any immediate relief, and I'm going to have to wait at leat 2 hours to even see if the prescription he gave me helps, and if not then what? I could of stayed home and cried in the comfort of my home.
Saying that I'd like to come back there is maybe not right but if I ever have to thats the one. They reacted quickly and treated me very good, food was delicious, nurses very friendly. Giving them A+ and a 5*

We received Great service from the front desk of the Emergency personnel to the Emergency dept. The Doctors ,Nurses and all the Techs and PCTs, were all knowledgeable and wonderful. My husband received wonderful care . We would like to Thank them all for the Fantastic service. We would always recommend Good Samaritan Hospital !

Dr. Roth and staff were amazing. No privacy when checking into the ER which is strange considering HIPPA laws but the staff was great. Dr. Roth and I believe the nurses name may be Maria (not sure) were so caring and thorough.

They put me in an unsafe position. They failed to recognize that I had a bad reaction to the two drugs they gave me and was not functioning. Instead of addressing it, the nurse added notes to my file to try to cover it up. When I complained to their public relations, I was told I would receive a return phone call and did not. This hospital is not safe. And they aren't professional. If they can't can't recognize someone in distress and who is not functioning normally, they shouldn't be in business. How does an organization win the Malcolm Baldrige Award when they don't problem solve and instead sweep problems under the rug?
Went to the hospital New Year eve. Nurse Denise was excellent. She brought me warm blankets and hand warmer. Dr Michael Logan was the only dr that gave meds that actually helped my pain in left leg. Ordered tests and was very helpful.
Even though they could not determine what the cause was he made suggestions on who can be seen since this was just the Er

If you are pregnant with a child who will have complications like a heart problem or something else, DO NOT have your child at Good Samaritan. They will diagnose your child with all kinds of diseases without even testing for those disease and then call bold protective services on you if you disagree with them. Absolutely disgusting!
I had whats called widow maker heart attack from entering hospital to having my stent put in was 35 minutes any longer i wouldn't have made it. Everyone from the people in er, doctors, nurses, aides, even food workers were great. Doctors explained what was going on my nurses and aides I couldnt say enough good about them and food was ok.I am here writing this because they were great. I wouldnt be here without them. Me and all my family thank you all Im alive and here with them. Thank you Steve Lange and family

Issues:A cocky doctor in the physician's offices and lengthy lab DROP OFF procedures.
The first bad experience I had here was with a cocky OBGYN during my annual appointment. My birth control had failed which I didn't know at the time. I did express my concern about just missing my last cycle to the nurse first. She took a urine sample. The doctor came said everything was a ok even after I told him I had never not had a cycle unless I was pregnant and the nurse took a urine sample for me. He said I didnt know my body and refused to check the results while I was there. BEHOLD I left the facility and get a call in the car 5 minutes later from a nurse. "Your pregnancy test was positive."....
Second confusing/bad experience is with the lab! I got some type of bug on vacation and had been sick for 3 weeks and couldnt handle it anymore. I went into the ER here. I couldn't use it so they sent me home with a kit which I could only have collected within 2hrs and only could bring it back to the lab between 6am-7pm. I was given the order to put with the collection cups. The next day comes. I ride over thinking it would be a simple drop off process. SURPRISE AGAIN.

I took my wife to Good Samaritan Hospital to take care of my pregnancy. But I really don't understand their Doctors, their Management, Doctors are just doing everything whether it is needed are not and you are not allow ask questions and Management are Oppss..every bills will comes with different account numbers and you will get only 30 to 45 days to pay the bills. Why different account numbers ?? you can not set monthly payment.. this is really pain.. they don't believe their customer ... I am not impressed at all with their service. My all insurance deductible gone in just 20 days..still 4 more months remaining..
Most of the workers are very good, and are actually nice. The true incompetence and arrogance is at the nurse-doctor level. I have had 2 horrific 'stays' there .
I love this hospital. Each and every time I have an appointment for radiology, MRI, and even for a surgery, the nurses and staff are always pleasant, friendly and caring. I live almost an hour away and I will continue to come here for as long as I can.

The men and women of Good Samaritans ER are amazing. I came in with chest pains (I was having a heart attack at 41) and was scared. They made me feel at ease. They had some trouble finding a picc line but after the ER doctor came in and with the help of an ultrasound made short work of it.
The cardiac team lead by the one and only Dr Patrick fenner I hope I m spelling it ok made me new again. And the ICU nurses were amazing too and everyone on the surgical team.

I had really great nurses here for my surgery. Everyone was very friendly including the volunteers. They answered my questions. My only negative was that the anesthesiologist did not have very good bedside manner.
I love the doctors, nurses, pcts and all the staff members who work in the Emergency Department.
Good Samaritan is not like most hospital emergency department where you have to wait an extremely long time before being seen.
They get you in and out in a timely manner. They listen to you and never over talk you. They make sure to explain everything in detail so your able to comprehend with the procedures & test that are being perform and most of all they really show they are for their patients and not just trying to collect a check.
Good experience for me. Technical staff I give a 10. Overall quality of care I also give a 10
I love this hospital a lot. Although you wait for a long time in the ER, but the quality of service is great. Surgeries done in this hospital are very professional. Staff are caring and the hospital is very clean.
If I could give 0 stars I would. Joke of a hospital. They give vaccines/medications without logging it in the system. So if you ask for your medical documents expect them to be highly inaccurate. They lose records/lab reports and other documents. The nurses are severely under-educated and they falsify reports. Assuming the worst here, but when someone is unconscious unable to answer for themselves and they put false information in I can only assume they took a bribe or put a favor in for someone. Emergency room front desk always has the rudest people working. The public safety officers are the only kind helpful people there. If I had a giant gash in my arm, I d risk sewing it up myself before ever letting any of the medical professionals there lay a finger on me. By the grace of God, I pray children are safe here... imagine if you brought your child here. Better off going to Central DuPage, GlenOaks, or Elmhurst. If you re having an emergency drive straight past this place you ARE NOT IN GOOD HANDS HERE. Super unprofessional and lack of training here. Please for your health and safety GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
They hire employees who explicitly admit to hating Hispanics. This woman Paige Doyle clearly doesn't care about patients or there well being but it's more concerned about the place they were born. I don't think any place called Good Samaritan Hospital should have such employees and to be quite honest it's false advertising.
I gave birth to my daughter at Good Samaritan on 10/13/19 and it was an amazing experience. The nurses were extremely friendly, helpful, and supportive through our whole stay there. I am so grateful that I chose this hospital. The lactation consultants were amazing and encouraged breast feeding and never even mentioned formula which was a huge deal for me. My baby was placed on my chest right after delivery and never left my side!
Worst experience ever at the ER with Dr. Benazir Baig. She was extremely condescending towards me. I came in because I was in a lot of pain post-surgery. I expressed concern to pay for an expensive CT scan to which she said, "I have been here longer than the two hours you have been here." No professionalism here, they did nothing for my pain, and I left in no better shape than I came.
Never been to a hospital that the nurses drs and staff were so kind and caring .They made sure i was comfortable at all times was really nervous for my surgery but they knew how to calm me down and treat me with respect i would recommend this hospital to anyone .Would recommend this hospital ro all my friends and family.Thank you to the loving and caring staff of the surgery dept for making it easier for me

From the moment I arrived at the facility for my surgery, to the time I was wheeled out a few days later, every single person I interacted with at Good Samaritan was first class. Every nurse made me feel like I was their only patient, even though they were very busy. I never once felt like they were rushing me through. Two nurses in particular on the 5th floor, Angelique, and Nadia, were especially friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this facility if you are in need for a top quality hospital.

Was there with a relative who passed away in ICU with a cardiac artest.Was in a coma when he arrived there and never recovered. The care was amazing!I have been a nurse 40 years and everyone of the RN's were born to be nurses.
Nurses and staff were rude and anyone could just walk in to see patients without checking in and/or requesting a pass.
I delivered my son here and I can t say enough great about the nurses and doctors who took great care of us. They were welcoming and caring. One of the night nurses who ended her shift in the morning came
back that night and helped deliver our baby. She was so amazing! The doctors out of Tre Medical group I highly recommend! They are all so wonderful. Dr Balash delivered our healthy beautiful boy!
We had an ER bill and called to pay. Someone answered after a while and said we owe them $800+. Told them the insurance company says we only owe $200+ but they refuse to call and verify and are rude! Called the insurance company again and they said will send a proof we can show to the hospital so we can pay what we owe and not 4 times that.
This seems to happen every other time we have a bill from them. Not sure why they are so desperate to charge more than what they should.
They tried to take out my sisters gallbladder, when she had a blood infection. She was literally on her way through the door to the operating room. Most incompetent hospital I have ever been to.
In my opinion it is better to get care from Edward Elmhurst and DuPage Med Group.
amazing, hospital aNd doctors saves my life after motorcycle accident
My wife delivered our son here. Everything and everyone was great until after the delivery and when we got moved down the hall. The staff at the desk was very rude and unwelcoming. The hospital itself wasn't that great. My friend and his wife had their child the same day as us, but they were in Elmhurst, and the things he was telling me he got from them and his they were treating them was outstanding. I was unhappy with this hospital. I'll recommend going to Elmhurst instead.

My experience at Good Samaritan was unlike any of my immediate care experiences in the past. I m so grateful for Mike, Dr. Antoniolli, and the rest of the nurses & registration staff. They really made me feel that my pain was real and valid, when I felt like a bother for coming in so late at night. They addressed all of my concerns and explained every treatment and medication, so I knew what I was taking and why. So thankful for doctors and nurses that clearly love what they do and genuinely want to help people.
Have been there several times and have always been treated greatly. From technicians to nurses to doctors they've always cared about my well-being, especially my PC, Dr. Syed.
The nurses were great the doctors were good honestly everything about this day was good except for the fact that the security took four rings from me one of them my wedding ring and $86 and then when I confronted them about it they said oh we will look for it kept interrupting instead of listening explaining how they shouldn't have it or they wouldn't have it when they were the last ones to touch it
Had a problem with valet for the 1st time had my car hit been calling them and they are only giving me the run around and won't try to solve my problem I kno bit happened here since I'm very particular about my car and how it is I trusted them tipped them and for this to happened is unacceptable if you park your car at valet make sure to give a full visual inspection before leaving since they are not people of there word..
Nope- Find a different hospital. I've had a problem every time I have had a baby there. We will no longer be using this hospital.

The doctors and nurses were wonderful last night. I got sick at 7 p.m. and arrived to the hospital at 7:30 p.m. Their front office staff got me right into a room. The nurses were already in the room, listened to my needs and took care of everything. Doctors came into listen, gave me the medication I needed and I was out of the hospital by 9:30 p.m. Thank you to Sami, Ava, and all the staff that helped me.

I checked in to Good Sam at noon with severe pain and bleeding and yesterday and they did not even care of how much pain I was. When I started complaing about level of my pain they put me in a room and closed the door and did not answering the buzzer in my room. This is so unreal that I can not understand since A Dr finally saw me in the evening around 5 pm! Worst place to go if you need urgent care.
I was today in the ER for almost 4 hours...the nurses, doctors and technicians were amazing taking care of me...I will recommend it 100%...

I have been trying for almost two weeks to schedule an appointment for a mammogram. I can never get through to anyone in Central Scheduling by phone. I have to leave a message and someone will call me back the next business day. I am tired of playing phone tag with Central Scheduling. It is appalling that in this day and age, I cannot schedule my own appointment on-line. This hospital is at least 20 years behind the times when it comes to technology. I am looking for a new doctor and a new hospital.
Came to this hospital tonight because I've been having the same pains for 4 months now. I noticed bleeding in my rectum area so decided I needed to come in.
The nurse asked what am i looking to accomplish here or what am i looking to have happen? Stated there will not be much that I can do here for you.

Emergency room nurses are TERRIBLE AND DISRESPECTFUL if you re going to be mad or can t handle the pressure you should consider another career. They need to have more compassion for family members that come in into their emergency.

Anyone in the western burbs wondering about nearby hospitals, DO NOT ever ever EVER go to Good Samaritan in Downers Grove. WORST experience of my life. Not only are they understaffed and WAY undertrained, their customer service is horrendous. I went from such a wonderful experience at Northwestern Prentice in Chicago when I delivered my son to this nightmare we are STILL dealing with. If you'd like even an OUNCE of professionalism PICK. A. DIFFERENT. HOSPITAL. About to write a post on every social media outlet I can think of to save people from dealing with what we had to/are still going through with these people.
Just a TINY sampling of what I've dealt with since my daughter was born- Scheduled induction was set, but when came in sent home because not enough beds. Promised over and over a certain time but then turned away because the nurses couldn't communicate between each other. When I finally was admitted I was stuck FOUR (4) times by a clearly new nurse who had to call in another nurse every 15 minutes because she had NO idea what she was doing. Again communication between shift changes (I was in labor 24 hours) was horrendous. Had to re-tell the new nurse all our information and what was going on EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I could go on and on with similar experiences for the 2 day stay. We couldn't wait to leave.
Now I'm dealing with the customer service side of the house and can't get ANYONE to call me back (trying to set up a payment plan- trying to PAY them for this horrible experience and still can't get people to call me back!!!!) They had the WRONG address on file AND the wrong phone number for me? How does that even happen?
I'm so frustrated at this point so I want to make sure I am loud and clear in saying if you are thinking of going to this hospital, pick ANY. OTHER. ONE. You will be SO happy you did

I left the same way I came. Still in pain, Even worst. I felt as if they were trying to hurry up and get me out of there. Don t get me wrong, they were nice in a way. I m still crying as I m writing this. No relief. I had 2 shots of the nerve blocker to numb the pain but it hasn t. The second shot was working as he was injecting it into my mouth but after that the pain continued. I told the nurse who gave the discharge papers and I was tryin to explain to her that I was still in pain. I also told her bout the pain meds but of course she didn t listen. She was tryin to get me out of there as well. I can t believe this because I just send out a great review/survey about my last visit.
Fractured C5 & C6 vertebrae and was in Good Sam for a week. First they had to do plastic surgery on my ear as it was lacerated in the fall off of a ladder. I then had to wait three days for the vertebrae surgery as my blood was too thin. Three days after the surgery I transported to Marionjoy rehab hospital for a couple days. My stay at Good Sam was the best that I could have even imagined. My doctor care from the emergency room to the specialists were some of the best in Illinois.
Then there were the nurses... Unbelievable! Everyone was so helpful and caring. I was in a full neck brace for 3 days in plenty of pain and again, everyone acted as my patient advocate looking out for my best interest... At least that's what my wife tells me as I was on a morphine drip most of the time. She has a medical coding background so is overly particular.
Great Doctors, Great service, Great patient care. Fully recovered and glad to be alive.

The service here is amazing and for the most part there are very caring and awesome people who work there. However, there is an employee by the name is Paige Doyle who believes that racist and ignorant comments are acceptable towards the community and specifically Hispanics. She has truly disgraced the name and should receive some sort of disciplinary action.
It's frightening that AGSH....hired an ENT...that has a revoked medical license....due to medical malpractice....and of whom....is guilty of committing...Surgical Assault.

HAD 2 OUTPATIENT SURGERIES, LAB WORK SEVERAL TIMES HAVE A CARDIOLOGIST & UROLOGIST THERE WHO IS THE NICEST PEOPLE PLUS RECENTLY AN ER VISIT FOR INJURED KNEE. THE STAFF IN ER WAS EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL & SHOWS CONCERN FOR PATIENTS WELL BEING. EVERYONE WAS PLEASANTLY FRIENDLY EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. FROM REGISTRATION, NURSES & DOCTORS & X-RAY & MRI TECS WERE VERY NICE. THE HOSPITAL SHINES LIKE A PALACE. GOOD SAMARITAN HOSPITAL SETS THE BAR HOW A HOSPITAL SHOULD BE LIKE. TOTALLY PROFESSIONAL FROM BEGINNING WHEN YOU WALK INN TOO YOUR DISCHARGE. IF I COULD GIVE A 8 STAR RATING THAT'S WHAT IT WOULD BE. SO I SAY GOOD SAMARITAN DESERVES 5 PLUS STAR RATING
Awful! Where do I start? The extremely long ER wait? The fact that you are forced to share a room and have HIPPA laws constantly violated? Or the fact that a doctor comes in and tells you that you need surgery but the specialist has yet to visit you ALL DAY LONG! How is one to prepare their family for such an event? Oh and the food sucks! The staff side eyes you! Minus two amazing nurses I encountered. I would highly reccomend driving a little further any way to visit Hinsdale hospital, Edward, Northwestern CDH, or Elmhurst.
The care is good. However, THEIR BILLING PROCEDURES GO BACK TO THE 1800's!!! INSTEAD OF RECEIVING A COMPLETE BILL IN A TIMELY FASHION TO EITHER YOU OR YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY, YOU GET BILLS 9 MONTHS, 11 MONTHS 12 MONTHS LATER, OR NEVER RECEIVING THEM AT ALL. You then receive phone calls telling you the ones you didn't receive are now in the hands of a collection agency.
Good Samaritan(?) how about giving all your Departments a code then each department can send their total bill to the head billing department where they total a complete and final bill!! This bill would then be sent to the Insurance Company where it would be paid. The patient could then receive ONE (1) bill and pay it or ask for a payment plan if need be!!

We had our first baby delivered here. The supporting staff were so kind, caring and patient enough to take care of the baby and Mom. Explained every single questions without any hesitation. I would recommend this hospital to my friends.
Great ER to go to. If you are a walk-in there's always going to be a wait because of patients being brought in on ambulances need a room and to be taken care of right away. Common sense. Staff are great and helpful even with many patients. Regardless of wait time, I highly recommend going to this ER for your needs especially since it's the only level 1 trauma center in DuPage county.
I just had the most terrible experience at the ER yesterday. We were told to go by a healthcare professional familiar with my daughter. Who said she should be hospitalized. We brought my daughter in and my husband and I were treated like cattle. Told to go back to see her where she lye on a gurney in the hall with another patient . Then told rudely we couldn't be in the hall and to move out to the waiting room. Then we were told to move to make room for people walking in and that was for patients, even though there was no one there and plenty of seating.
An intake person named Pat rudely came up to us and started talking to us out in the open with people standing and sitting there about her 15 minute assessment and sounded uninterested, trivialized the situation and basically made us feel like we were lying to her. The ER doctor, Dr. Steiner, was worse. he was rude, cracked inappropriate jokes belittling us when this was a stressful time for us.
There was absolutely no empathy or caring and when I was right in the middle of talking to them both, they walked out on me and roughly handed my daughter her discharge papers.
I will never go to this hospital again!
I attended the Women's Center at Holy Family/ Presence Hospital - had a wonderftl experience. Everyone made me feel comfortable - received quality care. Maureen was fantastic- great follow up skills, answered all my questions, helped with billing issues, a pleasure to work with.
I had my right knee replaced there my Dr Steven Lewis. My treatment was excellent the staff was excellent the food was great and the room was REALLY clean
This Hospital is a rip off , I went to ER for Eyes is Swollen a little , it happen because of COVID-19
Immediate care in my ears is close because it s Sunday , I went there just for an hour and they charge me 2 separate bill for the doctor s fee $471.00 and they don t do anything to me in the ER and they charge me for facility for $420 and they billing is a messed up , they don t even use cotton balls in me
They don t even know what I have they assumed that is allergy , I never go back to this hospital again ever
And I won t recommend this hospital to my friends and family or even to my client
