I started with the firm many years ago as a staff auditor with no prior experience. I was given the opportunity to work on a wide array of engagements within audit, advisory and IT. Early in my career, I worked directly with Castro senior leadership on in-house engagements in addition to working with Big 4 firms on subcontract projects. Management has acknowledged and rewarded my hard work over the years. My thoughts and ideas have always been valued even at entry level. Over the years, I have seen the tremendous growth of the firm that has been integral to my professional development incorporating new goals and initiatives for the firm each year. Castro encourages work life balance and promotes firm initiatives and events including women s leadership, diversity and inclusion, community involvement through Castro Care, virtual gatherings such as happy hours, exercise groups, Castro Cafe and webinars, Castro softball team, annual holiday party, all-hands meeting, Light the Night and many more events. Castro has developed new in-house training every year to give employees the tools to succeed on their engagements. Many years later and now in a leadership position at Castro, I still feel as connected and engaged as the first day I started.
