Ok, Barnes made his own money with a salve that actually helped people. He did not have kids so he had scads of disposable income. He also saw the potential in impressionism and bought early.
We took the docent led tour. Done very well and highly recommended (How else would you learn that he said, "You can never have enuff Renoirs" and that he had 185 of them?)
Computerized shades and HVAC to protect everything. Mostly impressionists but Cranach, Bosch and some others tossed in for good measure.
Well done, enjoyable with no little plaques explaining everything, just the artist name.
A well spent 2 hours.
Go and get you impressionism fix.
