2 weeks ago I wrote a review about Back Bay Bicycles and it seems to have disappeared. So in addition to behaving rudely and ripping off customers, they have little integrity.

So, here we go again:

I was just starting my ride, and got a flat. As this shop was a block away, I stopped in to purchase a tube. $7.44 for a crappy schrader valve tube. You've got to be kidding me. Regardless, the bearded guy was really nice, and made me laugh when he complained about the jackass mechanic in the back who gets high and listens to reggae all day.

Anyhow, he says nothing as I wheel my bike to the back to quickly swap out tubes. There is one other person in the store, as it's about 2pm on, I believe, a Tuesday. The mechanic, who with his bloodshot eyes, and slow demeanor is obviously high, hands me a tire lever. I quickly get to work(mind you, completely out of the way - I used to work in a bike shop, so I try to be courteous). All of a sudden, he says, "Hey, I really can't have you working on your bike back here. I don't care if you work outside, but you can't be back here." Then has the nerve to grab my bike, and without my permission, deposit it at the front of the store. Excuse me? I just paid $7.44 for a tube, and you're going to give me a problem about taking 3 minutes in your empty shop to change it?

Listen, if you're a mechanic, get stoned on the job. I don't care. But at least be courteous after I spend almost ten bucks on crappy tube. And don't ever touch my bike, or take it anywhere without my permission.

Never coming back here again.
