While you are sleeping scientists in West Texas are solving the age old questions of the universe. Amazing drive up to the observatory from Fort Davis and amazing views from Mt. Locke and Mt. Fawlkes. It is difficult to get tickets to the star party and tours, so plan in advance. Also be sure to arrive early. There is an educational display/ museum with a few exhibits and a gift shop/cafe in the visitor s center. During the winter it is much colder at the observatory than it is below so be sure to dress appropriately for mountain top climate and wind.
