CF A Review of NAM

We live fairly close by and heard a lot about this place. Not superb, not terrible. Just... is. The dining area looks like every other restaurant popping up these days - very european, modern, hipster. Upbeat, new kind of music. If you didn't know the restaurant name or the type of food served, you would not guess this is a Vietnamese joint from the digs. At all. $26 for two pho bowls that, honestly, were lacking in flavor depth. It was like the chipotle of pho, if that makes sense? The ingredients were fresh and our order came out fast and hot. We both felt the pho base was missing that "umph".
Every server, hostess, and waitress we encountered acted professionally with kindness. So shout out to the super nice staff. And clean space. Perhaps it is that my preference is for places with some history and soul. Maybe the atmosphere/vibe will evolve as the restaurant settles into their new building. Best of luck with success.
Will we be back? Probably not. Our visit solidified our loyalty to our favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the Cincinnati area - Song Long.
