This company is a joke to be completely honest. Most of the crew chiefs were using drugs, often times on the job site. The people in charge only care about ensuring their friends have a job. They offered a bonus for getting people hired, so everyone just got their friends hired which split the company based on who got you hired, what town they were from, or wetherbyou were one of the kids the bosses son was friends with.
I witnessed a crew member overdose in a gas station once. He was fired but was honestly considered for a lead position prior.
I was let go for falling asleep on the way to a job site because I m a single father who doesn t get much sleep. However the lead crew chief who told on me sleeps regularly. We would take 2-3 naps a day, that he would order. If we finished a job early, we would have free time in the truck. So me getting in trouble for it came out of nowhere. This guy is known for being a sneaky guy that gets people in trouble so I m not surprised I was another victim. One day I just fell asleep first, and he took pictures of me. I was fired the next day. When I tried to explain myself, I was ignored because the people with all the power only want to help their friends. I was also denied unimployment for being fired, for an entire year. That was my only way to work because I could ride with my father every day. They waited until a day my family wasn t there, and fired me, forcing me to walk home somewhere that s already a 45 min drive.
Not to mention I also can t receive benefits I need as a single father. All because of this ordeal. Not only did they fire me, they fired me for something my crew chief had us do daily, they did it on a day they knew I wouldn t have a ride home, and they helped me get denied benefits for 365 days.
This is just one example of the extreme bias in this company. One time, a crew chief got caught smoking pot on the job. However, he was a friend of a person in charge. He then fabricated the drug test, and even told our boss. Our boss of course only cared about saving his friends, and let him do so.
People have been caught smoking and driving, with no consequence, and drinking while on the road. This never gets past the first one in charge unless this is someone he personally dislikes.
He had surveyors with 10+ years of experience in positions lower than kids who started that year. Seirously, he promoted ex pizza restaurant cooks to crew chief within 300 days, while actual crew chiefs sat in the back seat. This could explain why the company was charged for so many mess ups. But then again, what are you going to do when you can t make people crew chiefs, because they have DUIs and your insurance can t cover them.
