What a pleasant surprise. I am a big London theatre goer but have never been to the Barbican. For no other reason that it has never occurred to me.
I like the Barbican anyway so the setting is fine. Spacious comfy seats were a novelty in a London theatre. They do tend to be older style seats that become cramped, but not so at the Barbican. Very spacious, unobstructed auditorium. Id be surprised if there were any obstructed or awkward views of the stage.
'Not' over heated, a BIG plus. Why do so many theatres over heat their auditoriums.
Friendly helpful staff. Easy to access and exit.
I went to see 'Grief is a thing with feathers', with Cillian Murphy. Amazing. What a powerful performance.
My only very small gripe is that in the circle you are quite a long way from the stage, due to the size of the auditorium. However the performance was such that it did not spoil my enjoyment.
