We could not have had a better experience than this. I planned a surprise stay, complete with dinner and a show, for my anniversary. Although I booked online, I called in to make sure that everything would be good. I spoke with Darlene who suggested that I have some flowers waiting in the room. She told me that she'd pick a room she thought was good for anniversaries and she came through for us. She also recommended that I talk to the concierge. I received Email later as a result of her actions. She handed me over to Gibson, the concierge. He recommended a show and let me know that we could take their complimentary shuttle to the theater. Before the show, we had dinner at Lemaire's. It was great. The server was very attentive and the food was good. Once she found that it was our anniversary, she had our dessert plates decorated with "Happy Anniversary" spelled out. And she did it all in time to get us to the show we wanted to see.

The next morning we had breakfast at TJ's. Once again, the food was great. After, we decided to explore the hotel a little. I happened to strike up a conversation with the florist, Rick. He was happy to tell us all about the history of the hotel - how things changed over the years, famous guests, etc.

We then came across Marvin, one of the banquet servers, I believe. He was kind enough to locate keys to the grand ballroom to let us take a peek inside.

I can't think of a single thing that was not exactly right about our stay. My tip to anyone is to have enough money on hand for tips. It's not like workers make it obvious that they are looking for tips, but their service is so good that you'll want to give a tip anyway.

It probably costs about 1/4 of my monthly mortgage when all was said and done, but my wife is still talking about it. It was worth every penny.
