Overall it was a fantastic learning and growing experience. The staff genuinely cares about the patients. If you put in the effort, and really try, you cannot help but walk away from Banyan with tools that will help you fight the addictions that haunt you.

I wish there was a little more structure for the initial orientation and getting started, but you easily catch on within the first several days there.

The counselors are genuine and challenge you on a regular basis.

The housing is comfortable, and being able to cook for yourself and buy the groceries you want is a big plus.

The rules are strict, and the near complete cut off from the rest of the world is rough, but I don't think I would have gotten as much out of it without having that set routine.
