King Fahd Medical City is the first medical city in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to contain four specialized hospitals, which are the General Hospital, the Women's and Maternity Hospital, the Children's Hospital and the Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy Hospital.
It was initially five hospitals before it was separated from the Mental Health Hospital.
The hospital has a medical college, an emergency center, and a heliport for evacuating and transporting patients.
