The mediation training provided by the Commonwealth Meditation Group (CMG) Foundation has been an enlightening, educational and inspiring venture so far. I have completed a third of the required courses taught in-house at the CMG Foundation's facility located in Richmond, Virginia and I am excited to be finishing up the rest within the year. I decided to complete the half dozen courses offered by the foundation that are requirements set by Virginia s Supreme Court, for two main reasons. The first reason relates to how mediating conflicts and serving the community go hand in hand. Exploring a career path that allows me to impact my community in beneficial ways is worth my time and efforts. The last reason relates to the expected occupational growth in the field of alternative dispute resolution in the near future. The expected growth within this occupational field is significantly higher than many other career choices.
