I miss how St. Francis used to be. It wasn't completely about money, it was about care. Now it is about caring, as long as you pay. Remember the nuns? Yea, they got rid of them; sure they have added pretty decorations, but I would much rather go to a hospital full of compassion and bleak walls than go to a hospital where the staff acts as if you are a bother to them. I've been in the St. Francis system almost all my life, my mother was a nurse there. They have better doctors than what I've experienced at St. John's, but Hilcrest is quickly rising to the top with good doctors. However, upon learning that my insurance will no longer go through St. Francis I was worried. When I found the reason I was more frustrated than worried. St. Francis is wanting to charge people at hospital prices for when they go to the clinics. That just seems wrong and some what unethical. And after a pandemic that has caused many people to lose money? No, not very ethical in my opinion. Hopefully Hilcrest will make the medical profession seem less greedy and more caring for others than their own wallet.
