I hired Minnehaha Falls Landscaping for basic tasks: weed removal, trimming two trees, mulching, and replacing a small landscape tree. I gave clear instructions multiple times to both the owner and project manager, yet several things still went wrong.

• They dug up two large areas of my backyard and applied mulch that I never requested. They refused to correct their mistake by applying grass seed at no extra charge.

• They left parts of the job incomplete and never informed me they'd run out of time—likely because they were working on unrequested tasks like inexplicably digging a large circle in a random area of my backyard that they were planning to fill in with mulch before I stopped them.

• The owner purchased a replacement tree without consulting me, despite my request for options. It was completely flat on one side. Then they charged me a $100 "restocking fee."

• They left multiple pieces of trash in my yard.

I was charged $2,635 total, which included $135 for the tree and $360 for mulch. The contract stated a maximum of 5.5 hours for three workers. That means labor alone cost $2,140—about $130 per labor hour, for fairly basic landscaping. I knew the price upfront, but I regret not getting more estimates because I probably could’ve had the same work done for half the cost with much better customer service. It was late in the season and I didn’t have time to shop around, unfortunately. Posting this so others can make a more informed decision.
