I have been renting a cabin through Railey for the past 4 years with no problem until recently. I rented a cabin for a large group ski weekend and spent about $3,000 peak rate for two nights. Upon check-in, the hot tub circuit breaker had tripped and there was ice floating in the hot tub.

I called maintenance immediately and they sent somebody out to look at it. They were unable to fix the hot tub. I was contacted by management and they suggested compensation of $150 for a main amenity of the house being unusable. The manager argued that I should be grateful because other companies wouldn't be willing to refund anything. I politely asked for $300 to be refunded, which I thought was a fair compromise on a $3,000 booking. Management would not budge.

Our entire ski weekend we went without a hot tub and management was unwilling to refund $150 more to make us happy. I made it clear that they've missed out on 24 potential future renters ever renting through them again and I hope it was worth it for their $150. Their customer service is AWFUL. If you are going to charge expensive rates for your rentals, at least have great customer service. Never renting through Railey ever again.
