I went pumpkin picking as a child at this farm, and now I take my son here. Anyone complaining about the prices ($5 hayride on top of paying for what you pick) has absolutely no clue how the real world works. I m from the city, so I have no idea how much it costs to run a farm as large as this, but I can imagine it s a pretty hefty price. The hayride is at least 10 minutes long, not including stops. It costs MONEY to maintain tractors and the trailers we sit on. And I m sure there s some type of insurance they pay for on that. The farm is well maintained and I am still impressed by their Easter egg hunt, best one I ve ever seen. Pumpkin picking is still on the vines, which isn t something you see at other places. Acres of apple picking, and sun flowers and all the other seasonal U-pick stuff. $5 a ticket for the hayride is not an unreasonable amount for the time, effort and money they put into maintaining this farm. If they made us pay for parking, I could understand the nickel and dime comments. But everything they charge for, are things the farm owners actually invest in to make it the way it is for us. We love it there and will continue to give them our business!
