UDPATE: I received a call from the service manager, Joe informing me that he wanted to make things right and agreed that they indeed only did a visual inspection when it was clearly stated that I wanted a major mechanical inspection. Joe has agreed to refund my money for the inspection and was very helpful and understanding. Joe also addressed the issue with the sales person with me and assured me that nobody would be allowed to take a bike without a motorcycle endorsement. While this is good to know, the fact is that the sales team is the face of the business and what they say and do reflect on Harley as a whole. I commend Joe for taking the time to right this wrong and have changed my review based on this.

Pikes Peak Harley really needs a wake up call from corporate!

My first experience with Pikes Peak Harley was a rather shocking one. I had simply called in to ask about a bike. I was shopping around and had not yet obtained my motorcycle endorsement. When I told the sales rep this information, he proceeded to tell my that I did not need a motorcycle license to buy or ride a bike, just don't get caught. How was I going to test ride this bike? I had never ridden a street bike and he was fine with just letting me pull out of there with a brand new bike, no riding experiences and no license!!!!

My second experience with them was after I had obtained my endorsement and a bike. I took the bike in to have it checked out due to the fact that the bike had always been serviced there and they had all prior records. Plus I needed to get it in that day as part of the sale agreement to have it checked over for any major mechanical issues.

Long story short, the bike is now back at a different shop being worked on due to an issue that Harley was aware of in the past (on prior service records) that they couldn't figure out how to fix. They charged me $100 for a inspection that was suppose to look for major mechanical (it's even on the service record). When I confronted the service department they told me that it was a "visual inspection". Very frustrating!
