Dined at Jonah's Restaurant today and the view was lovely. The food however, was a major let down. We ordered the Frutti de Mare (3 tiered sea food platter for 2) after specifically asking and being assured there were hot Moreton Bay Bugs included. The food arrives and while the presentation was impressive, the taste was lacklustre. We also weren't given plates for some reason? Scallops were a few seconds over done as was the John Dory. And to my dismay, there were no Moreton Bay Bugs, instead we were served Yabbies. I will note that the sashimi and oysters were lovely. For dessert we ordered the lemon tart and a tarte tatin. Tarte Tatin arrived with half the ice cream melted....

I'd like to note that when I voiced my disappointment at the lack Moreton Bay Bugs I was treated to a spiel about how they don't usually serve them hot. Even after I said that I specifically asked and was told that "Yes, there were bugs and yes, they would be served hot." Not the kind of service I've experienced or would have expected at any hatted, Michelin star or other half way decent restaurant for that matter.

I'm not sure if today was an off day for the team or if the standards are simply slipping. After today's meal I'm not sure how or why they have remained a hatted restaurant for so long. A real let down for a restaurant I've been wanting to visit for a while now.
