If I could give lower I would. Dropped my 2013 Ram...

If I could give lower I would. Dropped my 2013 Ram Diesel truck for a check engine light. They tell me a $165 diagnostic fee - Ok no issue. They called and told me it was a contaminated DEF tank with Gasoline. I can assure you to do this, you would need to grab a small neck funnel and stick it in the def filler to do this - Assanian to thick one would deliberately do such a stupid thing. While on vacation, they called and told me it would be $2,800 to fix it. I told them to hold off, I would wait to see how to proceed when I returned since the truck was not not in limp mode. The fact is the tank had ~1/8 when the light came on. I added ~4 gallons of new def thinking that may help. Bottom line, here was my choice - Mr. dumb customer we have you by the short hairs - You can tow the truck home since it wont run now or pay us; not the $2,800 you where quoted but, $5,800 for a completely new DEF System. The DEF NEVER !! Had gasoline added. If that was the case then, it was vandalized in their yard , they figured the warranty wouldn't cover and they covered their now posteriors hoping I would pay or, Ram has a cross contamination issue which others have documented on blogs . In two of the three cases, it's purely speculation knowing 100% full and well it was not tampered with or contaminated on my end. Don't rely on a test strip. Ironically, the DEF fluid I asked to have a sample of has also mysteriously evaporated and is no longer available. I told them I would not pay there fee to repair and would be towing the truck away. They said ok it would be ready. I called to pay the bill to which I was told we wont take your payment; you have to come in to that. Why didn't they tell me that when I told them prior to leaving. I rank this dealership like most dealerships - read between he lines. I will NEVER buy from Autonation again nor use their own extended protection plans. Should have bought the GMC to begin with...As with other posts and the nice reply's to help with another try. I did call their GM 4 times all of which I was disconnected. On a side note, there was an issue with the heater core. I diagnosed the issue my self after they said it was normal to blow 110 F at the heater vent on the floor board. I ran efficiency and load calculation and came up with 149 F based on "loose" efficiency losses not knowing the true number. Guess what - The service manger looked it to it after three times trying to get it fixed. The Factory acceptable limits are ~143-148 F....I should have taken that as the fist warning sign they had some incompetency levels of technicians
