What an incredible place this is! We took a tour over the weekend for our daughter's first birthday and were extremely impressed with the level of compassionate and knowledgeable care the rescued farm animals receive. The facilities are top notch and it is clear that much thought and research went into assuring that all the animals have adequate space, opportunities for engagement, and spaces that mirror natural habitats as much as possible. Even though we have been vegan for 14 years, we still learned so much about animal welfare. Piedmont Animal Refuge goes above and beyond with their education outreach - so in a sense, they are rescuing even more animals than the ones actually living there. It was super fun to interact with the animals! Highly recommend visiting this wonderful place!!
