Sugar and Scribe is a quintessential brunch spot in La Jolla! We made brunch reservations for 7 in advance and dined al fresco. Such a beautiful morning.

Our server was also the sweetest and such a pleasant person as well :) She happily refilled coffee and water and checked on us regularly. Because we were a large group and catching up, we sat literally an hour after and she did not make us feel rushed and no one gave us the stink eye. Phew!

Sugar and Scribe is probably one of my favorite brunch spots, ever. The ambiance, food, everything is perfect. I had the Chicken Little scramble and I loved every single bite. I loved the cheese they use (and I'm super picky about it) so I was super lucky haha. The $5 upgrade for the lemon curd pancake is worth it too. I didn't really taste much lemon in my pancake; it tasted more florally to me. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed it and practically inhaled my pancake with that floral/citrus-y syrup. Such a unique pancake :)

Oh, and of course the cupcakes are amazing!! They are quite small though for the price (2.75 ea) but the portion size is right in reality, heh.

I'll definitely be back for more of that pancake and chicken little scramble!
