Hire an unemployment attorney. For the pandemic, CT DOL built a stone wall around their offices. You can't get ahold of anyone on the phone, nor is there anyone to email. Any email you do receive will be from an automated system, preventing you from responding. You can't go to an office and see anyone in person. The CTDOL Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) online system is a nightmare, nothing on the site functions properly. You can't even update your contact info without the system failing. The tech support email address for the CT DOL is a dead-end, your email will be returned to you. The only option you are given is to navigate the CTDOL's non-functioning website or to watch one of their 20+ minute long webinars (comments have been turned off!). In short...there's no safety net. Governor Lamont made a terrible decision to put hundreds of thousands of people out of work without the proper safety net in place, and it has resulted in the Department of Labor (already an exercise in frustration) becoming a black hole. Having no person-to-person assistance during a crisis is unacceptable.
