Do not have a baby here! Absolutely worst experience of my life!! I had been warned by two of my neighbours that Trillium health Center Queensway was not a good hospital to have a baby at, but Regrettably did not take their advice! My experience delivering at this hospital still haunts me to this day, 3 months later. First off the intake nurses didn t believe my water broke and made me wait in labour assessment for over two hours having painful contractions on my own-(due to covid), they Rudely made comments about how they didn t believe my story about my water breaking at home. The PH strips didn t turn the Shade it was suppose to turn which is not a 100% accurate test. Finally when the doctor came he was able to confirm my water had broke. Once I got to labour and delivery my husband was able to come in with me, and my nurse informed me that to make my labour go by quicker she was going to stretch my cervix with her finger each time she checked my dilation. I m not sure if this is practice that should have been takin place by a nurse, but a faster labour sounded good to me. A couple hours later my nurse informed me that she could stretch my cervix to 8 cms and that I would likely have my baby anytime. She went on break, and while on break a nurse that was covering her checked my dilation and informed me that I was only 6.5 cms and that my cervix was puffy . Over two hours later when my nurse got back she checked my cervix again and said that my dilation was now 6.5 and my cervix was hard . After many hours later the doctor said my cervix was injured and not going to dilate any further, so I had to go for a emergency csection, the spinal anesthesia didn t work and I had to be put out under general anesthesia. I didn t meet my daughter until 40 minutes after she was born, I am absolutely heart broken about my experience, when I woke up in the O.R. my baby was not there, and I had no idea where she was, this is very upsetting for a new mom! My husband was also not allowed to be there for the birth which is upsetting for both of us. When In recovery I finally got to meet my baby girl, seconds after Holding my baby for the first time this nurse comes up
To me and says hey! Do you remember me?! I was one of the intake nurses from last night when you came in, (I m trying to enjoy meeting my daughter for the first time and she s rudely interjecting on my moment) then she chuckled and smirked and said you don t look nearly as hot as you did when you came in! I could not believe the audacity of this nurse to make such a rude comment to a mother who just went through hell and is meeting there baby for the first time. My husband was in recovery with me and was also blown away by the comment. That nurse does not deserve to work with humans let alone new mothers and baby s. Absolutely no bedside manner. I had a previous emergency c section 5 years ago in Hamilton at McMaster hospital, although I wasn t happy about the outcome of the csection at least the nurses and staff were professional and amazing to deal with, unlike Trillium. Then to top it off the report from the hospital which states why I had the emergency csection says I had it because of fetal heart rate tracing which is not what was told to me by the doctor before I went for surgery, he specifically said it was because my cervix, and not Fetal heart rate tracing, I can t help but feel they are covering up for malpractice and that the nurse should not have been stretching my cervix during labour. The labour and delivery department is terrible at this hospital.
