Billy James Review of Little Creperie

Your Credit Cards ARE NOT secure with this business.
Let me start by saying this place has awesome crepes and great food. Their business practices on the other hand not so great.
I stopped by with a buddy of mine, due to Covid they had a sign on the door saying to call in your order. My friend calls in the order on my phone, gives his credit card number over the phone, we get our food, eat, have a great lunch and go home.
The following evening at around 6pm at night I get a call from The Little Creperie asking for my credit card number saying the card didn't go through. I ask why I wasn't informed of this at the time and they told me they write credit card numbers down and run them later "because we're busy".
First off as a business owner myself, this is not a secure way to store credit card numbers. Secondly, it's no faster to manually write them down than it would be just to punch them into the POS system. Not only is it slower and does it require an extra step but you open yourself up to mis-transcribing the numbers and it's not secure as someone's credit card number is just floating around on a piece of paper to be lost, stolen, used by an employee, etc.
When I asked the employee who called me why they writing down my credit card info she hungup on me. I then called back and asked to speak to the owner a manager got on the phone, was very rude and aggressive with me and said "we will pursue you for these crepes".
They demanded I give my credit card over the phone. Why would I give my card to a company who I know doesn't securely store credit card info? That would be crazy. When I brought up this is not secure or how you run a business I was told "we keep them in a drawer".
I eventually did get a call from the owner who left me a voicemail stating "Do you know we are in the midst of a global pandemic!" None of our other customers have an issue giving a credit card over the phone. I didn't have an issue giving a credit card over the phone either until I learned that they don't run cards they write down your card number on a piece of paper to run 24 or 48 hours later, that's what my issue is.
Well initially I was going to write a review about this and then decided I'd leave it alone. Well, here we are 3 months later and they just called me about this so figured I'd write a review and warn other consumers. They have tasty crepes but if you go pay in cash!
***EDIT***
I appreciate the response from the owner, but the response seems to avoid the issue I have with your business. Your employee admitted to me that they write full credit card numbers on a piece of paper and run them later, in my case over 24 hours later. This is not a secure practice and should not be done, nor does it "save time when your busy" as your employee stated. The employee told me they couldn't read their handwriting from writing my credit card number down, this is not "the last 4 digits" this is the full number as you can't run a card without the full number.
