As I sit here at home with all my animals around me, all of which are rescues, I think about a family of three goats, a mama goat and her two kids, that became a huge part of my life. Unfortunately, the farm that they were living at didn't want them any longer. I needed to find a place where they would be loved and cared for and their relocation needed to happen sooner rather than later. After researching rescues in our area, my sister found this incredible place, Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge. After visiting the refuge and helping out on work days I discovered that this was not only a refuge for farm animals but also a refuge for humans. It is a place of compassion, it is a place of peace, it is a place of love, and it is a place where animals and humans show each other what true caring is all about. All the animals that are lucky enough to be able to call this refuge home have come from horrible conditions, neglectful conditions, and some life threatening conditions. I knew that this would be the place that this family of goats could go to and thrive but most of all be able to stay together in a safe and caring environment. There is never a time that I go to the refuge that I don't leave there with a sense of calm and peace. If ever you need to go somewhere that has a purpose and has meaning, Piedmont Farm is that place. All animals are one at this amazing refuge!!!!
