Review of caravel zante hotel

The infinity pool is great. Food buffet is average but clever, generous, well cooked and well served. But most rooms with swimup is a disappointing disaster.
A newly dug ditch with no view, cold and unclean water, where cats piss and things come floating. Our room - the first they tried to put us in - was not even ready, there were still building.
The second room was more of a ditch in the bar. Very small, very noisy, no sun, no view, no sleep...
The third room - day no 3, hooray, we could finally unpack - had no swimup but acceptable seaview and a nice balcony.
But we had no compensation whatsoever and three vacation days down the drain.
Caravel has taken most previously least attractive rooms - ground or below ground level, very limited if any seaview, dark, small, noisy etc - and dug a ditch in front. Charging extra as swim-up.
Don't buy this.
There are at most 8-10 very nice swimup rooms at the Caravel. Only one is really great. These 8-10 have real seaview, space, privacy. The rest of the swimup-rooms - and there is a lot of them - is worst than any average hotell room - very noisy, very tiny swimup, no privacy, no view, no sun.

We really enjoy Zakynthos but we will never book the Caravel again.
