It's a bit unexpected to find an art gallery in Whitechapel, so I kind of looked forward to visiting. The gallery is a mixed bag of education focused on local history and the people of the east end. And large spaces devoted to exhibiting works of contemporary artists, as well as visual arts exhibitions.

Much of the contemporary art and sculptures looked like the output of teenage art classes and one of the film shown on 4 wide screens looked like amoeba travelling under the sea. The latter was a bit too abstract for me.

I'm not a big fan of contemporary art, so perhaps my opinion should be taken in that context.
