Overall hospice offers end of life care. I strongly urge anyone using this service to understand you are giving up your right to supervise care. They have their own Dr who will not see your loved one, nor you, but instead depends on various nurses or workers to assess what medication, how much, how often it will be given. You don t have a say in it. You can dismiss them, but if you are in a facility , they won t allow you to remain unless the hospice protocols are followed. Nor can you just leave and take your loved one home.
Having just been through this nightmare . I would never do it again. Rather, have your own Dr of your loved one do all prescribing of medication, at home with hospice assist. NEVER USE THEM IN A CARE FACILITY EVER.
