I'm calling around to get a price for a compounded...

I'm calling around to get a price for a compounded medication that Medicare doesn't cover. I have to pay out of pocket if I want this at all. They insisted they had to have my prescription in order to run it through my insurance company. I told them I've already had it declined by Medicare so I am going to pay cash, and I just want a price so I can compare. They insisted they had to have a prescription first. I'm not going to ask my doc to waste their time sending out prescriptions to every compounding pharmacy just to get a price. The pharmacy closest to where I live has already given me a price (without asking for a prescription). Other compounding pharmacies will provide pricing. Of course I'd send the prescription for them to fill it.....I just want a simple price. Which tells me they price the stuff depending on which insurance plan you have. That's so wrong, in so many ways. Not a chance I'd go to them now.
