My name is Lisa B, I am a stage 4 terminal cancer survivor and Dr Spies is one of my Doctors. He not only helped to save my life, he made me want to live it! I was diagnosed with a base of tongue tumor while pregnant with my daughter. The cancer had spread to many lymph nodes in my neck. I was originally diagnosed in 1993 and wasnt introduced to the right doctors until 1999. Dr Glen Rothman and Dr Robert Spies, found the primary tumor at the base of my tongue, they removed the tumor and rebuilt my tongue with tissue and a vein from my arm. I had a ton of stitches in my face and neck. I am very vain and proud of my appearence, so this made me so concerned about my future. I had a trach, a feeding tube, radiation therapy you name it! Dr Spies always treated me like a part of his family. He reassured me he would make me "normal" again and he did! He fixed all of my scars, my chin doesnt even have a scar which is amazing! I never really had the appreciation of a plastic surgeon until I met him!! I had no idea how important he would be to me and how much I adore him!! He made me look as though I had nothing done and I am so greatful for that!! Call me crazy, but even beating the cancer would not have given me the quality of life I would have wanted if I had to look "different".
