Melton isn't a bad company to work for if you are single and just starting out. They run legal, they take semi-good care of their equipment (trucks will be fine but you have to watch the trailers. I brought one in with a leaky hub seal and they tried to put it right back out without repairing it). They pay you a higher than average rate per mile, but this is intended to compensate for the low miles and time consumed with securing and tarping every single load. If you are new, watch your trainer. I had one that drank and drove and another with codependency issues (didn't want you to leave the truck without him, scary). You won't be getting 1000.00 checks on the regular, but you will be paid and if you have issues they will take care of it. Overall the drivers are a really good bunch with the exception of one million miler with a white truck. Everyone will tell you his name day one. The staff are also friendly and the safety department is not there to screw you over or do a gestapo number on you. One of the better places with minor downs that will be different for everybody.
