I will never and I recommend you to not patronize ...

I will never and I recommend you to not patronize Baum's Bakery. The service and disrespect I encounter with the Owner and a Manager of this establishment was appalling and unsolicited. I purchase a cake from this awful bakery on the late evening right before closing. I was not familiar with the sizing of their cakes. A 8'' Chocolate Dobausch Cake was displayed in the case. A nice size cake, but their was an option to purchase a 6" chocoloate dobausch cake for a less expensive price. So the clerk said they had both the 8 & 6 in cakes available for purchase. I choose the 6 in cake. The clerk went to the Refrigerated Storage Case and pull out a completed sealed box cake . I did not think the difference between the two was massive. Immediately when I got home I open the cake and notice that is was one of those very tiny cakes that you serve to a toddler on their 1st birthday not sufficient for an adult b-day celebration. I placed the cake in my refrigerator to return it on the next morning and that exactly what I try to do. When I walked in no one was at the counter to greet me, so I waited patiently and suddenly the clerk that assistance me on the day before came out and I explain my issue to her and she was very helpful and agree to exchange the cake from the 6 in to the 8 in and have me pay the difference. This is called great customer service, but unfortunately the clerk did not know how to perform this transaction and went to get assistance. This is where everything goes to Hell in a hand basket. First of all the manager that came out was extremely rude, unprofessional, and a bit racist. She was about to complete the transaction but for some racist reason she changed her mind and came up with a lane excuse stating that once it left the shop we can 't exchanged it. I asked why is this because if you employee has done their job and showed me the cake before I purchased it. I would have never spent $30.00 on that baby cake. Trust Baum's cakes are not that delicious anyway, but it was on my way home so i dropped in. I never asked to receive a free cake I just wanted to get the correct size cake I wanted to purchase from the beginning, but this despicable manager was not bugging. I asked to speak to the owner which was a complete waste of my precious time and money. His pitiful response was duplicate of her nastiness. I feel that if my Caucasian counterpart was making the same request there would have not been a problem They would have exchange the cake and probably gave her a refund, but because of my skin color. I was treated with little respect and courtesy. Now mind every customer I saw come into the baker was African American. We are always the one utilizing our buying power, but you can believe this African American will never buy any pastries, cakes or bake goods from this poor excuse of a Bakery again. I will tell everyone who will listen about and my horrible experience and urge them not to shop at this establishment.
